DevBiker
Some notes on the cooler and the Commander Core (CoCo). 1) The CoCo is required for the cooler. You cannot run the cooler without it as the cooler gets power via the CoCo connection. 2) The CoCo does not control DC-mode (3-pin) fans. These will work but will run at 100% all the time. (at least at this time ... not sure if this is a bug or by design) 3) You can put different fan types on the CoCo. However, the channel can only be configured for a single fan type. When in AutoDetect Mode, it will configure the channel for the type of fan with the greatest number of LEDs. For example, if you have a mix of ML, HD and LL on the channel, it will configure all of them as LL fans. 4) You can override AutoDetect mode and specify what type of fan is on the CoCo. However, you cannot specify the number of fans or what ports are connected. It will still autodetect these. (Note: this will pose a problem for faulty fans that all light up but don't have a Data Out signal ... something that we've seen). 5) Each fan channel is independently addressed. You don't need to put fans on in series any more. Additionally, a bad fan in the middle won't kill off the rest of the fans. 6) If using the CoCo w/o the cooler attached, iCUE will see this as a "Commander Core". If the cooler is attached, it will appear as the cooler (H150i Elite Capellix, for example). 7) Pump Speeds: Extreme - 2700 RPM / Balanced - 2480 RPM / Quiet - 2300 RPM. The pump seems pretty quiet, even on Extreme mode. 8) The original SP-RGB fans do not work on this CoCo at all (the RGB, that is). That said, putting on in the middle doesn't hurt anything either. Parmenedes
Thanks for this, Zotty. One question: why are we supposed to plug the pump fan cable into the cpu fan header instead of a pump fan header? I have a z490 Meg Ace (MSI) motherboard which has a dedicated pump fan header and am just curious why we wouldn't want to use that.
Zotty
Hi bud. Prob for the ease of setup. if its on the CPU Header it wont throw a fan failure alarm on boot... Edited October 1, 2020 by Zotty

Amorphica
To connect a 7th fan to the commander core (3 h150i elite included ML120 and 4 QL 140) what splitter do I need? I think the fan PWM splitter is something like https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-2-Fan-Splitter/dp/B01DV1Z0Z4 but for the RGB side is it https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-Lighting-Channel-to-2x-RGB-Fan/372610467788?hash=item56c15087cc:g:SdwAAOSwhE5cciTl or https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-RGB-LED-Fan-Splitter-Cable/372525759121 ? Thanks for your help. Edit: Or should I just use an included lighting node core from a pack of 2xQL140 for the RGB? I'd have trouble doing RGB wave-like profiles anyways with 7 because 2 would be duplicates right? Edited October 4, 2020 by Amorphica

I think the fan PWM splitter is something like https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-2-Fan-Splitter/dp/B01DV1Z0Z4 That would be fine. PWM splitters are pretty widely available. For the RGB Splitter, use the second one ... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-RGB-LED-Fan-Splitter-Cable/372525759121 Edit: Or should I just use an included lighting node core from a pack of 2xQL140 for the RGB? solstice1337
Hi, very good post! Could the commander be used to run several corsair fans (intake or exhaust) with the iCue software? So I have one mastersetup of all fans? After controlling all the fans automatically based on the iCue software and not fancy RGB lights :)
Deeman54
Please help!!!! My pump, fans, leds only work if I power up my computer, quickly turn it off (seconds) and turn it back on. Once I do this everything works I own the h100i elite, everything is configured properly.
Nokturno
Hi I have a query regarding setting up more fans. I intend to use the 3 provided with the cooler, as well as 6 additional LL120 fans. How would this be achieved? Would I need a commander pro and do the following: 3 supplied fans in to cooler, in to commander core. 6 fans in to commander pro (as well as all 6 in to an rgb hub) connect rgb hub and commander core to commander pro connect commander pro to mobo? Cheers
biagioz
My setup would be with the 3 original 4000x fans, 240 elite capellix with his original fans and an exhaust fan: which kind of fan should i buy to make everything work at a glance? ML120 rgb will do, or did i understand it wrong? Anyway, in this reddit a Corsair dev says that they plan a firmware update "to enable per port LED control and mixing/matching fans on Commander CORE" Edited October 14, 2020 by biagioz

QuesoVT
Is there going to be an option in the future to either tie in lighting setups with it or import into the H150i Capellix, as it seems to be separated out in iCue. Loving the product by the way.

burntomaro
yep! spot on buddy. that would be how i would spec it For that same setup (h150i elite cappelix + 6 LL 120s) could you use the first 3 fan/rgb ports on the CoCo for the aio and then use 3 fan/rgb splitters for the 6 LL 120s? Commander Core is able to control 6 fans in total for RGB/PWM. starting adding splitters and you are going to start overloading the sata connection and/or the Fan headers
