  1. I was looking over what was in stock at Corsair and there are very slim pickings. The RM1000i was the only model at that power point and most were low end models.
  2. I suggest the RM650 (white, 2019) which is now widely available and much more efficient
  3. The PSU monitor cable is designed to plug into one of the 9-pin USB headers on the bottom edge of the motherboard The header is marked JUSB1
  4. I have the HX1000i and the difference in platinum and titanium is very thin at best The HX1000i is very good and I have used one for quite a while now and it is solid
  5. I have so many Corsair PSU cables I had to get a large storage box for them all the sack just doesn't cut it
  6. I found that line noise from appliances cause as much problems for excess noise MOS varisters can eliminate some noise and caps can also filter it off, high end power bars can contain those components to clean up problems
  7. Use the Windows standby feature which is far more effective besides the monitor, the standby wakes the box far faster
  8. Shadow of the Tomb Raider does benefit from a multicore processor

    SATA cable help

don't recognize that cable from any hardware I have seen
  10. Power failure will not hurt a PC however any open work will be lost. Word etc save every few seconds so users need not worry about dodgy power companies.
  11. Most other motherboard vendors use a whole layer for power and one for ground. This helps simplify the design, I never did understand the use of a secondary ATX12V connector, its outright useless to even bother spending the peso on a connector. The EPS12V connector has upwards of 250W and the 2x12 cable brings in 2 more wires with another 150W of power. Should be enough any power pig CPU.
  12. I only use extra power for my RTX 2080 and all other cards via MSI Afterburner so if the card wants more it can have it I let the boost do what it needs to do when the card is pushed hard
  13. Given the CPU power for AM4 and all the slots, I cannot see how more than one EPS12V is really needed when considering the extra power from the 2x12 cable
  14. Is you chassis top mounted or bottom mounted PSU? Most bottom mounted PSU have the fan pointed downwards
  15. Should be OK with the hardware listed use the RX 6800 card at PCIe 4.0 so it the bandwidth is at its best
  16. postimage.org is a good service for forums and blogs
  17. I do not recommend that. Safer is to use the cable that came with the PSU. My newer RM650 (2019) comes with a type-4 2x12 cable. My older HX1000i comes with a type-3 2x12 cable. They are not interchangeable. So get the correct cable and do not modify cables like that for safety reasons. Extra EPS12V cables are low cost from Corsair. Pig-tail dual PCIe cables are shipped with the RMx RMi and RM (2019) PSUs but Corsair sells single braided PCIe cables as well.

    HX1000i

I have one of these and the can hardly ever comes on.
  19. I use 20A circuit for my PC. The wiring is conventional 14 gauge and it can handle a bit of power without overheating.
  20. PC power supplies are designed for grid power so most inverter units now can make a fairly good AC signal that can handle most appliances A good UPS is not a low cost item. Cheaper units tend to be very poor quality.
  21. Check your motherboard to be sure the front panel cables are connected properly
  22. HXi series are excellent and I use them myself
  23. I have lots of tools in the box for testing power supplies and even test equipment I have had issues in the past with crap power supplies so I made custom split cables so I could measure power to a video card. This did not work as well as desired as many cards like the early RX 480 used excessive motherboard power. My Sapphire RX 480 however has a 8-pin PCIe connector so it uses mostly that for power. I have even had an old PSU explode and start smoking. Lots of fun back in the old days.
  24. Just trying to make clear that RAM power consumption is negligible vs other components Anyway back to the problem with the PSU Fan Zero fan is more temperature related than power related. So if the TRX40 box is running hot that might trigger the PSU fan. Maybe the OP can post some photos
  25. DDR4 RAM is fed from the regulators power and it runs at 1.2-1.35V. Not much uses 3.3V anymore. 5V is used by the USB mostly for support BCC 1.2 charging power etc. This is why board have 2 EPS12V cables so that it can have as much power as needed for slots which can use a fair bit. 8 sticks of RAM is < 8W of power
