Corsair virtuoso SE volume stuck at 100% on wireless mode

Recommended Posts

So, I'm having a problem because yesterday my headset decided that it won't let the volume control work anymore out of nowhere when it was perfectly fine before.  So fast forwarding I tried a bunch of stuff to fix the audio and then I even had windows IT help me and even use remote assist and it didn't work. So they recommended posting on the windows forum and I eventually got a reply telling me that the issue is actually with corsair's firmware.
So I go to the forums here, see there are people that had the exact problem 1-2yrs ago and apparently the solutions were get a non virtuoso headset or force a firmware update. I tried, but the option is grayed out, then I uninstalled then reinstalled ICue and for a second, it was working. Then it decided to go back to the exact same problem. This only happens in wireless mode, so I'm hoping someone can give me some more detailed and effective solutions so I can stop dealing with this.

Tl;Dr: Virtuoso volume stuck at 100% on wireless mode and all sources say the firmware is the issue, but I can't force firmware update to fix.
Windows 10
Dongle: v. 0. 16. 80
Virtuoso: v. 0. 17. 149

So I tried emailing the help desk since the firmware from most sources are saying the firmware is the problem and the main response I got was how to update the firmware when updating was never the problem. Does anyone have any actual solutions to this?
At this point it's either wait for them to "possibly" send out a new firmware update to fix this, just deal with it, or get a whole new headset that isn't corsair and hope this'll never be a problem again.

Some in this thread stated using compressed air in the volume wheel. While others started taking them apart.

Sidenote: That was the worst Corsair reply I have ever seen. Looked like a copy-and-paste reply with no thought at all.

I saw that thread too, but it wasn't the same issue. Their volume wheel worked, it just wasn't working smoothly and spiking the volume up or down erratically. I still gave it a shot with blowing, didn't work. This is completely a firmware issue and I have no idea how to do a rollback, so to speak, on the headset's firmware.
Yea, that was my first time emailing Corsair's support and that was absolutely horrid. Like they ignored the issue and only saw update and firmware, copy-and-paste those steps, and called it a day. Experience is pretty negative so far, and I know I paid over $100 for the headset. I try to go with quality and this firmware stuff is becoming an annoying issue. What's the point of good hardware if the software to run it turns it into crap
