daniaal Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Hi all, I have 7 fans all are the LL Series. Details Below: 3 x 140mm Front (INTAKE) 3x 120mm Top (EXHAUST) 1 x 140mm rear (Exhaust) I have a commander pro and a lighting node pro as well as an RGB hub. So you can only plug 6 fans into the RGB hub and then plug this into the LED Channel on the commander pro. My question is, can i plug the last fan into the other LED channel on the commander pro or will i need to buy another RGB hub. Sidenote - Also if anyone can guide me on a good place to mount the Commander pro and RGB hub in my case, i would appreciate because i am a bit clueless on this to. Currently next to the psu (Phanteks evolv x) See attached image on where i think i should place. I am very open to suggestions. :)
Zotty Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 hi buddy..... have a read of the below linked thread.. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=173880 technically to be covered by Corsairs Warranty you would need another RGB Fan LED HUB. there are work around's but they are in no way supported by corsair. you'd need to get your head around the iCUE ecosystem first imho
daniaal Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 Right i thought that would be the case. Also i just thought now, i wouldn't be able to get pwm control would i because the commander pro only has 6 slots. But the phanteks case has its own Fan controller so maybe i could use this? EDIT: Just been looking through the thread that you linked. I could get a PWM fan splitter and i would need another rgb hub and then i am sorted. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Zotty Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 yup you could do that buddy...... :) Glad you found the info you was looking for in that thread!.
daniaal Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 Zotty thanks for the reply, appreciate it. Few more question if you dont mind. If i use the splitter will i still be able to control the 2 fans connected to it individually. My hunch is no and both will run the same speed. Furthermore i am having trouble on choosing splitters. The below link is a splitter with 4 pin female but then 3pin and a 4pin male. Should they both be 4 pin. Im not sure. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Splitter-Computer-Converter-Sleeved-Braided-Black/dp/B01N1Z3FYD/ The below link has 2 x 4pin males to a single female. https://www.amazon.co.uk/kenable-Splitter-Cable-Plug-Sockets/dp/B009XA2TZM
