Ajsbored
I'm thinking about buying the rgb fans to light up my case a bit. For the RGB, do I need to connect them to a psu extension or does the controller hook right up to the motherboard? Same for the rgb strips, I lost my spare cables for my psu when I moved and have no way of getting replacements.
DevBiker
The RGB does require power from the PSU. The fans will need a Fan Hub (minimum) which requires SATA power. LL and ML fans also require the Lighting Node Pro (NoPro). While not required for HD and SP fans, the NoPro does provide control and additional functionality. The NoPro requires SATA power as well. The strips will require a NoPro as well. Alternatively, the Commander Pro (CoPro) will function as a NoPro. This, too, requires SATA power. The NoPro and CoPro will connect to the motherboard via USB for control, not power. USB doesn't provide anywhere near enough current to run the RGB on the fans or the strips. Make sure to check out the RGB FAQ in my signature.
c-attack
Most HDD/SSD SATA power lines are 2 or 3 splitters. Hopefully you have at least one spare connection open. There is likely to be some PSU compatible cable on the market.
