El Media Vida
Hi guys. I'm planning buy a Corsair XD5. I read reviews on amazon and some users say it's necessary use it with a commander pro. Really I dont care the RGB, I only want control the pump speed by PWM signal directly on CPU header. It's possible? Thanks!
c-attack
Yes. It should respond to most PWM controllers. The lighting is something else and that requires specialized connections. Edited September 30, 2019 by c-attack

Corsair Employee Corsair GregX Posted September 30, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 30, 2019 The D5 pump motor used on the XD5 RGB unit supports a standard PWM as found on motherboard PWM fan headers. You will be able to control the speed of the pump motor using PWM signal from CPU fan header. RGB lighting requires a Lighting Node PRO or Commander PRO, the latter will also support smart features that the XD5 RGB unit provides. Control of your complete custom cooling loop based on coolant temperatures and using the iCUE Hydro X profiles.
