DAVe3283 Posted March 22, 2016 Share Posted March 22, 2016 You just place the cap on the stem, and press down hard. Probably a lot harder than you think you should. You want to bottom the key out, then keep pressing to force the keycap down on the stem. Cherry switches are tough, you won't hurt them. If you are pressing hard enough to flex the aluminum backplate and the keys still aren't going on evenly with the others, then you might have a defective switch or keycap (probably the keycap).
