mylorik
I have a H80i and the liquid temp is always 24-25C no matter how high is the processor temp(40min or 60max), is it okay or the pump temp must be closer to processor temp? Is "H80i Temp" tells the temperature going to pump or the temp of liquid going to radiator? I have a amd a10-5800k processor and it's temp 46-50C idle, I not sure that's normal.http://puu.sh/ee4b1.jpg
Toasted
It does not look normal. The coolant should be warmer than 24.4C if the CPU is 50.4C. Double check the H80i block is mounted correctly to the motherboard and contact to the CPU is obstructed.
mylorik
I did 2 times, I chanched thermal paste, but it always 24C, is it defective one?
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 8, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 8, 2015 This is not normal. Can you post pictures of the waterblock mounting? This seriously sounds like heat isn't properly being transferred from the CPU to the waterblock.
mylorik
sure, and the bolts are tightened good http://cs618325.vk.me/v618325135/1aad9/dWACtlFYcyI.jpg http://cs618325.vk.me/v618325135/1aac9/8kjflhBvclE.jpg http://cs618325.vk.me/v618325135/1aacd/Vzxw3yTQ_yQ.jpg by the way, when I run my computer without fans the temp of processor was 60C and the H80i Temp was 30C http://puu.sh/ef0LV.jpg
mylorik
at 70 C processor the HH80i temp was 35, it is double less then the processor, maybe I shoul use another thermal paste or liquid metal?
DPeter85
Holy rats nest batman... Speaking in a thermal transfer sense, the coolant in the H80i should be significantly lower than the temp of the CPU. If it is too close, you are either not cooling the fluid off in the radiator or the fluid itself is not even flowing. I dont find it hard to believe that the fluid in the closed loop is in the mid-high 20C range, especially if the ambient temp is in the low 20C range. Now, your idle temps of 40-50C are NOT correct. I can run in the low-mid 20s on idle on mine. It sounds like you have not seated your cooling block on the CPU properly. Have you done any of the "washer" mods that are talked about around here? mylorik
"washer" mod? what do you mean? P.s. the pump placed really tight, the problem might be thermal paste, I want to buy "Arctic Silver 5" and check it
Toasted
Lay the case flat and with the system is running, push the pump block down towards the CPU, does anything change? What motherboard is that? Intel mounting bracket on an AMD board?
mylorik
it's ****ty one, it's doesn't even have a CPU temp monitoring, I gonna change it and buy a i7 one, but I wanna know first is the H80i alright or not P.s. no, it didn't change anything
Toasted
Based off the readings from the LINK software, the H80i is working fine. The issue here is most likely the contact between the CPU and block. From the looks of it, it is probably an OEM board with custom mounting points which seems to be similar/same to Intel's mounting points. Have you tried moving/lifting the block the block while it is in place? Does it move while it is mounted?
mylorik
the pump moves only if the bolts are not tight
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 9, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 9, 2015 I am seriously confused here. Did you remove the stock cooler mount for that motherboard? That's socket FM2+, you're not supposed to use the backplate, the H80i is supposed to clip onto the stock mount.
mylorik
I KNOW, I was completely *fced*, yeah, I removed 45mm fan with the radiator. I guess this is a problem and, maybe, thermal paste. I will buy i7 and "ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO " and check mine H80i on it
mylorik
the ****ty motherboard is MSI 2AE0 http://puu.sh/ehQib.jpg
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 9, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 9, 2015 It certainly is. Wow, yeah, that board is basically OEM hell. No wonder it doesn't even have a standard mount.

Toasted
Did you test the H80i on the Asus board? Is it working fine? What do you need help with?
mylorik
no I didn't test it on asus motherboard because I haven't bought it yet, I want to know if anything change if I refill the pump or use another thermal paste and what difference of temperature should be between H80I and processor
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 12, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 12, 2015 You can't refill the pump. That board uses a nonstandard mount for the socket, I honestly have no idea how to get it working perfectly.
