  1. So, the motherboard included is going to have limitations in place in BIOS in order to ensure surface components don't overheat. I'll have to go back and play with the i160 some more to see if I can reproduce your issues. I'm working on having an overclocking-enabled BIOS for the i180 produced, if there are issues with the i140/i160's motherboard BIOS in terms of letting customers play with the settings and tweak their systems I'll want to make sure those issues are resolved.
  2. Regarding your disconnect issues with USB, are these duplicated with the rear USB port or just the front port? For the sleep issue, what monitor are you using? You wouldn't by chance be using a G-Sync display, would you?
  3. This BIOS will have those microcode mitigations introduced. And what specific USB and sleep issues are you having?
  4. Just because the board we use is similar to the mass market one does not mean it's the same. Our BIOSes are tuned specifically for stability and fold in necessary security updates. If your system is running fine, listen to your motherboard vendor's advice: DO NOT UPDATE THE BIOS. We don't regularly publish new BIOS updates at the same cadence as the motherboard vendors specifically because we have to focus on stability, and frequent BIOS updates are a great way to ensure novices brick their systems.
  5. The retail ASRock X299 ITX board WILL NOT FIT in the Corsair One chassis. We had to modify a daughterboard to ensure that it would work. To be honest, if you want to go nuts with a Corsair One, your best bet is just to buy the i180 and manually upgrade the CPU to the i9-9980XE. We've actually validated and certified against that CPU. We won't warrant its operation or any damage you may incur by doing the swap, but it can be done and should work fine. We also have a 64GB upgrade kit for the i180 en route. You can technically buy a 16GBx4 SODIMM kit and it should be fine, but the upgrade kit comes with specially selected ICs and heatspreading tape to guarantee stability. As for the i140/i160, I don't know what you really gain from switching motherboards. Maybe another 100 or 200MHz turbo? Maybe? You can achieve similar results by manually undervolting the CPU, which could reduce noise in the process.
  6. Hey everyone, I'm the product manager for Corsair One and felt it appropriate to answer directly here. I hear you on wanting to have consistent, regular BIOS updates for these systems. However, the update cadence the sister motherboard in retail is on is not appropriate for Corsair One, and there are minor but notable hardware differences between the boards in retail and the boards we use. No new features have been introduced in the motherboards, and QuickSync is unfortunately extremely niche. The customer also for a pre-built PC also has different needs vs. the customer for a DIY motherboard. Where things get extra tricky for us is that we have a history of being a DIY company, and we've produced this pre-built machine with that expectation folded in from our reputation. Certainly the newer Corsair One i100 series was designed to have more of this in mind. But the primary focus for these machines has to be stability and security, so we have to take an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. If the existing BIOS keeps the system secure and stable, I'm playing with fire by trying to push a new BIOS through. I can understand wanting to have the latest BIOS updates on principle, but look at it from my perspective: what is the end customer gaining by updating their BIOS, and is it worth the risk of a novice user accidentally bricking their machine?
  7. That is NOT what I said. This generation Corsair One has limited upgradeability as far as the graphics card is concerned. You can use any full size card that fits the PCIe height/size spec. You CAN'T use the graphics liquid cooling system with it.
  8. Out of curiosity, are you running ASUS's Aura Sync software simultaneously with Corsair Link?
  9. Out of curiosity, did you try to run the Gigabyte app simultaneously with Corsair Link? Because that could also affect whether or not Corsair Link can properly control the memory.
  10. Contact Corsair's customer service directly. If you have the receipt, they should be able to help you out. Point them to this thread and let them know I recommended having us replace it.
  11. So I'm looking into this. It's not technically a bug with our software - EVGA's software is overreaching and trying to control a cooler it thinks is one of theirs - but maybe we can blacklist the software or block the detection or something to keep it from conflicting with Link while still letting you control your EVGA kit.
  12. Well, hold on. The HX1000 (non-i) has no Corsair Link functionality. So Corsair Link won't tell you anything about that one.
  13. So I just looked at EVGA's Precision XOC website and I think I see what's causing the problem. The latest version of XOC allows you to sync the graphics card lighting with coolers. If EVGA's software isn't especially picky about reading the hardware IDs of coolers, it's probably reading the H100i V2 (and our other Asetek-built coolers) as its own. Alternatively, they may have also included a half-baked LED control scheme for non-EVGA coolers that's causing problems.
  14. Unfortunately this is a no-go, the SP120 RGBs use a different protocol than the rest of our current RGB products. I believe they're still 5V, but there's something else different with them.
  15. That is absolutely bizarre. And it's consistent? You enable Thunderbolt, the DRAM disappears from Link? You disable it, the DRAM's back?
  16. Just out of curiosity, is the USB port the Commander Pro is connected to a "Charging" port? What happens is that some motherboards will leave power to a motherboard port on, and I wonder if that's not the case here. If it is, there may be a setting in your BIOS that will allow you to disable that functionality.
  17. It's by design. It's basically an alarm. Even if the system isn't still suffering those high temperatures, the point is to let you know that it happened.
  18. So we've found there are a few pieces of software that can interfere with Link's operation. What other software are you running alongside Corsair Link?
  19. Seconded. Practical testing from TechSpot also demonstrated virtually no performance degradation in synthetic or real world applications from the recent Meltdown patch.
  20. That's unusual. I'd say just kind of keep an eye on your system. If everything else seems stable it may be fine, but if you start having issues with instability go ahead and contact us.
  21. So I've been looking into this issue, there's a lot of back and forth going on behind the scenes here, and here's the deal. When you were offered your initial RMA, you would have two options: 1. Conventional RMA: You ship us your unit, we ship you back a replacement (supposed to be a brand new one.) 2. Express RMA: You give us a credit card number to hold as collateral, we ship you a replacement (supposed to be a brand new unit), you ship us your old one. On the Express RMA side, it's SOP for most companies to place a credit card hold or something to that effect. That helps protect us in case we send a replacement and never receive the original. Where things went south was when your unit was taken for repair instead of just being replaced like it ought to have been. I don't know if the options were explained to you properly, and it looks like things definitely got fouled up on our side.
  22. The issue with these is that it's possible to have one bad fan that won't pass a signal on past it. So you could have all of the fans working fine as long as they're the only one connected. What we need to do is figure out which fan - if any - isn't passing a signal down the line.
  23. The first thing I always want to check is whether or not there's any third party software running alongside Link. So motherboard software (like Gigabyte's SIV) or antiviral software.
