Double Shot Key Caps

Will these new keycaps be compatible with german layout too?

Is this still alive, or has there been a hitch and the project is now dead?

Cooler Master will have ANSI and ISO-DE Keyboards with PBT in march.

 

So Corsair has 2 months left or I'll go with CM.

It's still alive. It is taking a bit longer because we want to make sure we do it right the first time :D:

That new Vortex set is really tempting, but I think I'll still hold out for Corsair to release their set, since I won't be using my Strafe for several weeks (I'm not home, and I didn't bring my Strafe to university).

I use the dvorak layout.

I've wanted to get backlit compatible keycaps for dvorak for about five years. I finally found some from wasdkeyboards. And they're even compatible with the Corsair bottom row.

Only thing is they're not double shot; they're laser etched. And they only come in black.

 

But hey, maybe in another 5 years someone will make white doubleshot dvorak keycaps.

Got my Vortex set from Massdrop. They are excellent. A huge upgrade from crappy ABS keycaps. I didn't realize what I was missing until now.

Are there any EU versions?

Are there any approximate time when Corsair is thinking of having this available to the customers? I am looking to purchase a new keyboard with double-shot keycaps and if I don't have to wait excessively long, it would greatly influence me about purchasing from Corsair.

I would be willing to pay 40-50 USD for a set of Black PBT keycaps. I'm hoping these aren't too far out from being available for purchase :-)

As long as you get the 126-key set, you won't have that problem. It has extra keys to accommodate non-standard layouts.

Awesome. I decided to order them as I do have the standard layout. If and when corsair decides to release their keycaps and they seem better than these ones I might decide to switch over to those.

The 126 (129 actually) key sets are molded different; the backlight bleed isn't as atrocious as on the older POM sets, and yes, the numbers and symbols are top aligned now, just like on the Ducky YOTG/Shine 5 sets. The black sets are fine but the legends are a bit smaller than expected on non alpha keys. The white sets have much larger fonts on the non alpha keys, but some of the extended keys have a square type pattern that can be seen through the bleed, and it seems to be identical on every set. A bit annoying if you have OCD but that's it. Look at the pictures shown on mechanicalkeyboards.com; that's exactly what you get.

Oh Corsair why does thou leavest me languishing in keycap hell so? Is there no morsel of pity to be cast our way to assuage our suffering?

I'd love to be able to get a white mechanical keyboard to go with the rest of the office decor. White keycaps could be a start. ;)

Ah! It's the infernal little Windows buttons. They do not have extra window buttons but you can use two that have little diamonds on them. Using those, the larger CTRL keys made everything line up correctly.

 

As an aside, I can't believe how terrible the original Corsair k95 Keys are. I stopped counting after 12 broken stems and I have the paint coming off two of the keys currently. It forced my hand in buying new keycaps, I couldn't wait any longer for Corsair to release new Keycaps.

Yes, I was confused about the Windows keys as well. Eventually I realized that I had to use the little diamond keys.

Received my white doubleshot backlit keycaps today and damn they feel good. Will post some pics a bit later when I have some time. Only have one issue and its the one alt key that is a bit skew. Personally I can live with it though.
