DarkHarlequin
Hi all, I've just taken the plunge with an upgrade to Skylake and purchased some new 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum - part number as above on the box and the sticks themselves. However, both sticks are showing up in bios as 2400Mhz sticks - showing part number CMK16GX4M4A2400C13 in SPD in CPU-Z. I've got them running on XMP Profile 2 at 2600Mhz but I want to know if it's maybe the new bios not detecting them properly, or they've just been mislabelled and I need to return them for a set that are the correct parts. Any advice, help or thoughts much appreciated. Cheers Dark
c-attack
Unfortunately, I don't think this is a BIOS glitch. It seems more likely the wrong set of memory was put into your 3000 box. This could have happened at the original manufacturing site, but I would put my money on the end retailer. Either way, no one is likely to claim responsibility and you should either try and return the part to the vendor before your window closes or contact Corsair Customer service. Depending upon where you live, one may be more preferable than the other.
