I may have a potential fix for you, unplug both the dongle and the usb c cable then plug the dongle into a usb slot in the back of the pc, then it should recognize the dongle then plug in the wired cable. after that it actually noticed them and downloaded the drivers and all that shebang. I'm not a pc genius or anything but somehow just plugging them into the back of the pc did it justice hope this helps :)
