Alex Reeve
Hey, picked up a second hand K70 vengeance from CEX 3 months ago in good condition and was easy to set up. Earlier today I was experiencing a high pitched sound through my headset and people in Discord could hear it too. I found out it was the backlit function so I turned it off. I then proceeded to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in to see if it would fix, but when I plugged it back in it was unresponsive, showing no signs of functionality. The only part of the keyboard that works is the USB pass through. I don't want to have to pay £100 for a new one. Help would be greatly appreciated. Corsair Employee Corsair Nick Posted September 18, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 18, 2017 Try soft resetting the keyboard by performing the following: 1) Unplug the keyboard 2) Hold ESC, then plug the keyboard back in 3) Release ESC after 5 secs
Alex Reeve
I've just tried that now and there is no sign of life, do you think it might have possibly had a power surge or something?
Alex Reeve
Update- The problem involves my mouse replacing my keyboard as the main keyboard device in Device Manager. I still think I need a hard reset performing to resolve the issue.
Toasted
Are you able to test the keyboard and mouse on another computer? Are you able to replicate the same issue?
Alex Reeve
Just tested it on my Acer Aspire laptop and the same issue occurred. I am starting to think this is an internal connection problem and less of a software issue.

Alex Reeve
Does anyone know a Corsair employee who can get the files for a hard reset for me?
Corsair Employee Corsair Nick Posted October 2, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 2, 2017 We don't have a public download for our firmware files at this time. You will need to put in a support ticket, and one of our Technical Support staff can provide you with the appropriate files: https://support.corsair.com/
