batshil
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced SSD Noise? My Corsair 120GT SSD is making noise everytime it is accessed for any bit of data. I have narrowed it down to the motherboard or the SSD and it seems to be coming from the SSD. I know it's not the PSU, graphics card, or fans because its a Asus K53e laptop. PSU is external brick, Sandybridge (dont hate me, it works for productivity) integrated GPU, CPU fan is silent when computer is idle, and there is no HDD in the system. When scrolling through pages, moving mouse around, or program accessing the SSD (sound corresponds with the "HDD" activity LED. So it either is the motherboard (kinda doubt it) or the SSD. Is this normal? SSD is a 120GT, its old but corsair SSD software says it has 100% life left.
Toasted
The noise should not affect the SSD in any way. Though you can put in a support ticket and see what Corsair says.
shineon
As most say, SSD's don't make a noise because they have no moving parts in it, but in your case, I can see that you have tested all of the possibilities, and it turned out to be your SSD. I agree with Toasted, it is better to have the problem checked by Corsair tech staff.
