Atiral
Please help me, I've come across a problem that my processor is overheating, and I assumed I just had to re-apply thermal compound to the cpu.. So I did. Then I powered on my pc again and its still overheating when I play GTA, please let me know what to do.. I've tried going into my bios like other people but I could not quite find what they've found.
Zotty
How many fans do you have attached to your mother board dude?
Atiral
4 fans in total. 2 3 pin case fans that are connected under the system fans, and the two 120mm pwm for my radiator.. that is connected to the connectors coming out of the pump. Zotty
Ok,, So normally the motherboard section in link used to show 3 fans right?
Zotty
Check the connection from your pump to the CPU fan header.. if that is ok. head into bios and make sure the CPU fan Header is set to 100% or maximum... then check link and report back here :)
Atiral
I dont quite no where to set it to 100.. /: The connection from the pump connector to cpu header 1 is good so I tried setting it to 100 in bios but it isnt letting me.

Atiral
I understand that, but when I turned off cpu 1 smart fan control, there isnt any option so i can tell it to be at 100.. only for system fan 1-

Atiral
is there a way I could fix it?
Zotty
Not that I know to mate,, if the Cpu header is at 100%/maximum. and the cooler is appearing in link,,, gotta be a dead pump I'm afraid.
Atiral
the cpu header isnt at 100% max.. when you told me to turn off smart fan control it did not give me an option to set a number at all.. But when I turned off SFC on my system fans aswell, I was able to set a number for the voltage.. So do you think if I put the pump cable on my system fan I can fix it? Zotty
did you try moving the sliders up on the fan curve graph in bios?? put them all at the top?.. My board is the MSI z97 g43 gaming and if I recall correctly that's how I had to do mine...
c-attack
No, I think you have a dead pump, but go ahead and try. If you don't allow the unit to get its 12v, it is like using a dimmer switch on a light bulb. It reduces the power to both pump and fans. The theory here (and the one everyone was hoping for) was you turned the dimmer down below the point where the pump would start. However, since the fans are completely maxed out, that removes the possibility this is a BIOS setting problem. The fans would also be affected and confined to a much lower speed. Sometimes electrical components just fail. If you break the circuit pathway, then that is pretty much it. Not your fault. Follow up with Corsair Tech Support for the replacement.
