Force 3 Windows Experience Index score?

The highest score I was able to achieve is 7.6 and I want to know if this is normal or slower than normal for this drive.

I have the 120GB version plugged into an Intel Sata 6gbit/second port

In bechmarks I'm only getting 200mb/second read speeds... It's supposed to be rated up to 500MB. I checked using Crystal Disk Mark. I'm using the latest firmware.

My index score in win 7 is 7.9 on my Corsair Force 3 60GB. I did this score with both firmwares 1.3.2 and 1.3.3. Change your ahci drivers from intel to microsoft ones and vice versa.

i'm using Intel drivers. Does this look right to you? I got a 7.5 now.

WEI is unreliable. You should be able to verify that with some Google searches. Your ATTO benchmark looks perfectly normal so I would be guided by that. You can check my system specs. I have gotten a graphics score of 6.0 sometimes. I reboot and it is back up to 7.9. What gives? I don't know. My disk score is usually 7.9 but it sometimes has dropped to 7.7 or 7.8. Again, I don't think you can put a lot of stock into WEI.

WEI is pointless. The scale on which drives are measured has no unit of measure and Microsoft constantly changes it when you install Windows updates. If yesterday your drive scored 7.9 thingamijigs and today Corsair launches a new line of faster SSDs, tomorrow you'll only score 7.5 thingamijigs. It's not because your drive slowed down but because Microsoft decided that your drive no longer deserves 7.9 thingamijigs.

WEI can vary slightly from benchmark to benchmark because there are always background processes running that may interfere with the measurements. Maybe Windows decided that it's time to refresh the thumbnails on your porn folder right in the middle of the test, which caused a short loss of performance. In cases like this, the highest value you got is the real score.

Did you run the WEI and ATTO test while background and opened processes were doing stuff? E.g (Virus scans, browsing the web, copying files, etc)

I ran the tests separately, no background tasks. I was wondering if my drive was performing like it should because everyone else with a Force 3 drive says they have a 7.9 score.

Edit the WEI scores. If you want to see 7.9

C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore

Open Formal.Assessment(Initial).WinSAT using notepad

Ctrl+F "DiskScore"

It should be something like this

<DiskScore>7.5</DiskScore>

change it to

<DiskScore>7.9</DiskScore>

save.

Ok i have the same problem and i find the solution.

1st Check the sata cable, be sure the cable is a sata 3 (in your case is ok)

2nd Download from here : http://www.corsair.com/force-series-3-120gb-sata-3-6gbps-solid-state-hard-drive.html The ssd Toolbox from Corsair.

Run the program,go to overprovision tab.

Check the recommended size and selected the size, after that press start button.

If the overprovision complete restart your computer and re-run the assessment.
