Pete.
I have just purchased a new graphics card, and decided to upgrade my PSU at the same time (Old PSU was coolermaster RS-430-PCAR) because it only has IDE power cables, no PCI-E cables & only a EPS/ATX12v 4pin (2x2). All my sata devices currently run off add-on extenstion cables off IDE power connections, and my 8800GT was also running from IDE power connectors. so i installed the tx-750w into the case hooked all the power, plugged in all the rest of the computer stuff. put the case back together powered it up and it didnt work :( all i can tell you is the case fans, graphics card fans & cpu fans spin for one tenth of a second or less then stop spinning for a tenth of a second then repeat for ever. is the power supply dead on arrival? Steps i've tried (to no avail): Re-seat all cablesUn-plugged all components so to leave just the 24pin and 8pin in useremove all but 1 dimm of ramsplit 8pin and just use 4pinplug in old PSU just to test, all worked what else should i try? motherboard is Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H Ram is 2x1gb Coarsair CM2X1024-6400C4DHX + 2x2gb Coarsair CM2x2048-6400C4DHX (4 dimms,6gb in total) CPU is AMD 4600+
va1erian
Connect just a fan to the power supply, and see if the PSU works. Look through the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum to find out how you can do it. For example, the thread titled "Brief PSU Functionality Test".
