Ceylon
Hi, i bought my corsair ddr400 august last year. And i have the following problem: My System runs with 2.6@3.25 GHz(250FSB) with 2 Corsair Rigs in dual mode. In Single Mode with one Corsair DDR i'm still having no better & stable results. In the last days i tried one DDR400 in single mode from the company MDT. And oh my gosh... my System runs with 293 FSB @ 3.8GHz! Why can't i reach similar results with my TWINX? I've tested it with 3:2 and 2.85v but no chance. The highest FSB i get with the Corsair is 257 @ 3:2 but unstable. Can anyone post the CAS Settings @ 250 FSB (5:4), 255 (5:4), 260 (3:2)... 300 FSB. Whats the problem on my Corsair? Are they worse? My System: * Intel P4 2.6c @ 3.25 GHz boxed * 1024 MB Corsair TWINX1024-3200LL * ASUS P4C800 Deluxe * Lian Li PC-50 * Albatron Geforce Ti4200 128DDR @ 275/560 MHz (ZALMAN HP) * ZALMAN ZM400A-APF
Yellowbeard
Can you post all of your voltage settings and your RAM timings that you use when using the Corsair? Are you setting the timings manually or are you using SPD? Mike.

Wired
Keep in mind that it's also luck of the draw. Your mem might have just topped out!
Ceylon
Do you think a VDIMM Mod perhaps would bring better results?
Yellowbeard
Ceylon, do you have any way of reading what ICs are used on the MDT RAM? Mike.
Ceylon
Sorry my english is miserable. What do you mean?
Yellowbeard
On each stick of RAM (DIMM) there should be 8 individual chips (ICs) that are the actual memory. There should be a brand name printed there such as Samsung, Winbond, Micron, etc. Do you see a name like this? If so, are there any numbers on the chips? Ceylon
Here is the Datasheet of the MDT! http://www.mci.de/download/D184u32x8.PDF Another Question, my corsairs cost a lot of money... 390 €. And i wont throw it away! Can you please say me, with wich cas settings i should try this: 255 FSB, 5:4 257 FSB, 5:4 260 FSB, 3:2 265 FSB, 3:2 Are 2.85v enough or should i do a vdimm mod and let the riggs run @ 3.2v? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 30, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 30, 2004 Please test the modules with the CPU running at 800 Mhz or default and set the timings manually to the tested settings. Cass 2-3-2-6 with the Dim Voltage set to 2.75 Volts. You can use www.memtest86.com to test the modules and lets make sure one is not failing. However, I am sorry we do not test with the memory and CPU out of sync on this platform as its not part of the Spec. from the chipset design. Ceylon
Thats bad. I thought, Corsairs are special overclocking memory... :(
Ceylon
Sorry i'm very disenchanted... my corsairs was so extremely expensive that i thought that they must be good OC memory. But thats not so. Another guys whos paid the half price for Geil etc. have better results than me. Thats very frustrating... :(:
