It's due to the Marvell SATA III port you're using. Nothing you can do aside from upgrading your motherboard.

Ok, this is probably staring me in the face I'm just not seeing it (it happens a lot at my age) but how did you determine the OP has the SSD connected to a Marvel SATA III port and not to one of the SATA II ports?

Did you plug the SSD into the Intel or ASMedia chipset?

If it's the ASMedia Chipset, plug it into the Intel SATA III port and test the drive again.

Intel® X79 chipset :

2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red

4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black

Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10

ASMedia® ASM1061 controller :

2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red

2 x eSATA 6Gb/s port(s), red

Source: ASUS

i can't say exactly ). need more time for repeat test. friend lives is far. and the tests were not accurate because the program was "CrystalDiskMark".but with the controller you were right, my motherboard gives 280/260mb/s (asus p7h57d-v evo) sata II port.

mb PCI express card sata 3 can help me ?

Thank you for the tip
