Joop86au
Its a new system, and has been working okay for a few weeks, however recently it has been shutting down when under heavy load (games etc). It is a complete shut off with no BSOD etc. The computer then attempts to restart but only gets as far as the fans before shutting down and resetting again. This continues until I power off and wait for a few seconds before allowing it to power up (capacitors?) The startup log then states Power supply surges detected during the previous power on. Asus Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system. Is this a false positive? Would I be able to disable the surge protection and continue as normal, or is my PSU failing me? Also the PSU is emitting that typical ticking noise everyone seems to be complaining about, if that helps.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 10, 2012 I would check with ASUS to see if there are any BIOS updates and if there have been any problems with this on any other PSU. But we can try replacing the PSU under an RMA if you like please use the link on the left.
