michaelKire
Hey guys.. I bought the MX Silent version for about a month ago and today i noticed something while cleaning my keyboard. The space bar has always been making a bit more noise than the other keys and i discovered that the two outer switches do not seem to be springy at all compared to the middle silent switch. Is this on purpose ? Also is there a way to dampen those so the spacebar does not make any noise like the others ? I added a picture for you to see that they are lower than the middle switch. Although it seems like they are connected through a metal rod. perhaps to ensure uniform pressure on the space bar.
terabyte
The space bar and any other keys with stabilizers (like the big enter key or long shift) will always make a little more noise compared to the other keys without them.
MajorMajor
This is normal because those outer pieces are just to stabilize the keyboard, not real switches. If the sound you're hearing is the space bar bottoming out, then you can buy some O-rings to put on the spacebar stems which should damped that noise. Something like this is what you want.
