paulh921 Posted July 6, 2012 Share Posted July 6, 2012 I have just installed the H80 in a Carbide 500R case. The fans have been set up as push/pull as an intake i.e. drawing air in from outside the case. I have the other fans that come prefitted plus I have two Alpenfohn 120mm WB fans fitted as exhausts on the top of the case. The Alpenfohn are so quiet that I had to take the top grille of the case to make sure they were working! My problem is that there is a high pitched whine coming from the radiator fans. It seems to vary as, presumably, the coolant teperature varies. The mobo reports the CPU fan RPM as between 2163 at idle and 2242. I understand from other posts that this is actually the pump RPM. I wondered if anyone had tried fitting different fans to the radiator and if so did they reduce the noise. The H80 is actually doing its job as the CPU temperature at idle is a pretty constant 34C, however the noise is driving me up the wall. I have put the pump on the balanced setting to try and minimise the whine. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks.:eek: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
