gouran
Hello, can I clean dust filters under water or should I wipe it with wet rubber?
snapper69
In the past I have blown them, dusted them with a microfibre cloth, vacuumed them and cleaned them under a running tap. Just make sure that you dry them properly.
Corsair Wizard
As Snapper69 said there isn't really a "proper" way to clean dust filters, I've personally just run it through a strong hose so that all the dust is no longer visible, as I want to reiterate that making sure they are dry (usually overnight) is the most important part of the process. MaverickSY19
I like to wash them out with warm water then dry them as best I can by patting with some paper towels. I say pat because you don't want to rub them as the paper will rub off into the filters in some cases. Then I use a nice Datavac Electric Duster I have that blows clear any residual water out of those things in a few seconds. :P That DataVac is one of the best things I ever bought. Works so much better than any air can and air pressure for cleaning out cases is awesome. Only thing you have to do is let it cool off from time to time and clean the filters. Corsair Employee Corsair Nick Posted February 28, 2016 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 28, 2016 Usually wash mine with water from a faucet after gently wiping the excess dust off with a microfiber towel. Kitchen or bathroom sink for quick clean, or outside if I'm doing a full case blowout with an air compressor. Try to keep water pressure low so it won't stretch the element and let larger dust particles in the case. Same procedure recommended for cleanable air filters for car and home HVAC systems.
