rdj
Greetings - I have an alienware M17x laptop, connected to an IOGEAR DVI 2 port KVM switch. running Windows 7 64 bit ultra. I also have a home built box running XP. I have my mouse plugged into the keyboard. When I plug the keyboard directly into the KVM switch it does not work but the mouse does. If I plug the keyboard directly into the laptop or the desktop the keyboard works fine and the mouse continues to work. I have tried the following trouble shooting: 1. loaded the software - no change 2. rebooted the laptop - no change 3. swiched around the keyboard and mouse connections on the kvm swich - no change - mouse continues to work however. 4. I swap out to a wireless USB keyboard plugged directly into the KVM switch and it works fine. So I KNOW it is not the KVM swith. I am guessing something in the wiring of the keyboard portion of the cable coming from the keyboard is switched or doesn't exist. I like the keyboard and would hate to take it back but I really need it to work with this KVM switch. anyone have any ideas? 4.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted May 21, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted May 21, 2012 We have seen our devices work, and sometimes not work with KVM switches. Our devices use 16BIT which is sometimes not supported by KVM as of yet.
