FirstRock
I have a p6x58d-e mobo with 920 processor CMX6GX3M3A2000C9 memory I'm trying to use the XMP profile with no success. The info in the ASUS user guide is very limited. Any help would be great.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 4, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 4, 2010 You would need to go under the AiTweaker mode and you should have an option for XMP.
FirstRock
I switched to the XMP profile, saved it and could not reboot after. I hit the MEMOK switch to get back to stock settings and right now I have the memory at 1600MHz and running fine. I'm rather new at overclocking. I thought setting to XMP would be a fire and forget setting. I'm not even sure if its overclocking if I'm under the rated speed. I saw in the forums a recommendation to run memtest86 but, not clear which down load to get. I'm assuming that it runs on boot-up from a flash drive. Yellowbeard
There is a link for Memtest on the left side bar of this page. Also, there is a very helpful tool located in our How To section: http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85815
