Sacco Belmonte
Anyone else? Once in a while, say, every 5 or 10min, the system has a short hiccup (small system wide hang) and the RGB lighting sequence restarts. It is quite noticeable. I checked in the Event Editor and there's no warning or message indicating the culprit. To me, It seems like the Corsair service is causing this. I closed iCue and stopped the service and the hiccups stopped happening so I'm pretty sure is related to either of them. This has been happening for the last two years, it was hard to pinpoint. --- System: X570E 5900X (non OCd) 64GB 3600 (non OCd) 4090 (non OCd and set to max performance) Corsair RGB LEDs and Fans. foldpages
Check your event viewer. I have the exact same issue and it was caused by iCUE and i was getting iCUE crashes/DLL errors in Event viewer. Quitting iCue fixed the issue.
Sacco Belmonte
Is Corsair aware of this?
foldpages
Just now, Sacco Belmonte said: Is Corsair aware of this? There are various threads on this forum but Corsair doesn't seem to care. All they suggest is to do a clean install of iCue (which I did, and didn't solve anything). The next step is to contact support which various members have done, but no solution either. It's just junk software.
Sacco Belmonte
Ok. I have forwarded the information to support. Let's see. In the meantime, it would be very helpful if more people reports about this here (and to the support team)
foldpages
There is a 7 page thread here, and there are various others.
Sacco Belmonte
Thanks for the info, I was aware of that thread but the title was more about crashing. I went and read some of the pages and saw people reporting the exact same issue I have. Posted there too. Puffff!........man.........Corsair, please do something about this...... 😞
LeDoyen
posted for years about performance issues caused by iCUE 3. after a while the answer was iCUE 4 is coming, completely revamped bla bla, high hopes.. Turns out it looked like a reskin of iCUE3 with just as much impact on system resources, if not more. If you care about your computer behaving normally, it's best to get acquainted with hardware profiles for RGB and cooling, to be able to close iCUE and stop the corsair services. Sacco Belmonte
Hmmm.... Are you guys using Process Lasso? I usually have iCUE in the lower CCD in my 5900X. I decided to force CPU affinity to all my cores. I did that two days ago and the hiccups were gone.
Solution Sacco Belmonte Posted January 19, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted January 19, 2023 I'm confirming after a week. the hiccups are gone. The solution was to force CPU affinity to all cores to iCUE and Corsair service.
