SpecialFoxC
Hello, I have an issue with my H100I where the temperature of my CPU will randomly skyrocket to 40 *C Without even using it. https://i.imgur.com/WmtSEMn.png Does anyone have any ideas of why this is happening? Also it smells a little bit like something is burned inside my PC.
Corsair Employee Corsair Mint Posted September 1, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 1, 2020 Hmm, if you're getting the temperature spike, the concern would be what's happening at that moment. Does it happen often? Do you have any software that might be running every once in a while that's putting a load on the system. If you're getting a burn smell, you'll want to narrow down where it's coming from to make sure it's not a component that has failed. If you've found where it's coming from and it's a Corsair product, feel free to reach out to our Support team for additional help. https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Pocah
Just a thought here, where is the radiator relative to the pump? I am just wondering if you have a circulating bubble of air.
c-attack
You are showing us a fan graph in the linked image. It's fairly normal for a CPU to jump to 40C any time you do anything, like opening up a folder. Ryzen 3000 series CPUs may sit up there all the time. However, if you meant the coolant temperature (H100i Platinum Temp) randomly jumps to 40C, contact Corsair support and see if that change in coolant temperature corresponds with any lighting changes on the pump LED. For example, you set it to "black 0,0,0" and the H115i Temp drops 5C.
