akalbat
I have Corsair AX1600i PSU (UK version) but unfortunately I lost the main AC power cable. I am trying to find a way to buy a replacement for this cable but till now, I could not find anything. Could anyone help me with the specifications of this cable for the UK version? If possible, where could I buy a high quality cable since it is a highly powered PSU and I don't want to risk having fire hazards.
akalbat
Nobody knows what cable is being used with this PSU? I talked to Corsair support and they said check for Kettle Cables!!!!! It is not even the correct cable.
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted December 3, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 3, 2018 Hi akalbat, the AX1600i uses a special power cord to handle the amount of power and amperage as you've seen. It should be this cable here, essentially, you're looking for a C19 connector on the PSU side. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400646&Description=c19%20cables&cm_re=c19_cables-_-12-400-646-_-Product
akalbat
This cable is for North America standard (NEMA 5-15P to C19). What about the UK standard, will it have the same AWG number if we use (BS 1363 to C19)? I am not sure what was the maximum current that could be handled by the UK plug version. Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted December 4, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 4, 2018 Yes, that should work. You're looking for C19 specifically as that connector allows for the higher amperage and power.
akalbat
I found these three cables and I think they are good. What do you think? Some of them are AWG14 and some are AWG16. The confusing part is that the fuse in a BS1363 is rated at 13A but the desired current draw is 9 to 15 A. So, will the fuse trip if we go above 13 A? So we can't reach 15 A in our region where we use the UK plug? https://www.digikey.sg/product-detail/en/tripp-lite/P052-008/TL903-ND/4438785 https://www.digikey.sg/product-detail/en/schaffner-emc-inc/IL19-UK1-H05-3150-200/817-1861-ND/5213715 https://www.digikey.sg/product-detail/en/schurter-inc/6051.2048/486-1598-ND/2682477 https://eu.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Schaffner/IL19-UK1-H05-3150-200?qs=PQDAUpz3sUO6mgMcXl4Jcw%3d%3d
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted December 4, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 4, 2018 You should be good with these cables. The 15A rating is for North America with 110v outlets. You guys use 230v so your rating will be lower for amperage draw.
