  • DDR4 memory has had a great run with our excellent kits like our DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB, VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL, and VENGEANCE LPX offering high performance and outstanding looks. With that said, DDR5 memory is on the horizon, bringing with it some key improvements for your current and future computing needs. What is DDR5? Better, faster, and more efficient! DDR5 aims to raise the cap on memory speed and capacity in a big way, pushing bandwidth up to 51 GBps (for DDR5-6400 at the time of writing). And raising the theoretical capacity of a single stick of RAM up to a whopping 128GB! Why Do We Need DDR5? More bandwidth allows for more efficient use of the memory bus in systems with high core count CPUs, while the denser capacities will allow your system to tackle even more at once, which is great for streaming and content creation (just to name a few applications). When will DDR5 come out? Soon™! There is no current DDR5 release date set in stone, however you can expect to see more DDR5 products as new partner platforms come out near the end of the year! The industry is hard at work on bringing the next generation of memory to a desktop near you and we at CORSAIR have been in the memory game for a long time. To stay up to date, check out our DDR5 landing page and sign up for future DDR5 updates as they come! • We first introduced SLIPSTREAM CORSAIR WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY on mice with the HARPOON RGB WIRELESS, keyboards with the K57 RGB WIRELESS, and headsets with the VIRTUOSO RGB and VIRTUOSO RGB SE. An additional benefit to SLIPSTREAM CORSAIR WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY is the ability to connect multiple devices to a single wireless receiver using SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS Multipoint. To help you set up SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS Multipoint, we’ve put together this quick video to talk you through the process: Alternatively, you can follow along with this written guide: To get started, update to the latest version of CORSAIR iCUE, at the time of writing this would be version 4.12 or newer (which you can download directly from our website). Before we proceed, we strongly recommend connecting your peripherals and wireless receivers directly to your system and temporarily disabling any third-party RGB software throughout this process. Now update the firmware for all your peripherals that you intend to connect via SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS Multipoint (if any firmware updates are available). Then navigate to the “Connections” tab for the wireless receiver that came with your mouse or keyboard (you can choose the receiver for either). If you intend to use a SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS headset like the VIRTUOSO RGB or VIRTUOSO RGB SE, you’ll need to select the VIRTUOSO wireless receiver instead. Click the “PAIR” button to add additional devices in Multipoint mode for this wireless receiver. Note that this button will only be enabled when you have a compatible combination of peripherals connected, such as a mouse and keyboard, headset and keyboard, headset and mouse, or all three connected to your system. You’ll be advised to connect all peripherals and the receiver you wish to pair them to directly to your system’s USB ports. Avoid connecting your devices through a USB hub, dock, or extension. Each device should be connected via USB cable and switched to USB mode. Once all devices are connected via USB and are in USB mode, the pairing process will begin, don’t unplug or switch modes on any of these peripherals. Once complete, you can remove all USB cables and switch your devices back to wireless mode. And you’ll now see currently paired devices in the “CONNECTIONS” tab for your wireless receiver. And on the iCUE 4 homescreen, you’ll notice icons indicating the paired devices on the tile for your primary wireless receiver so you can quickly see what’s connected at a glance. If you still have the wireless receivers for your other peripherals connected still, you can remove them from your system and store them in a safe place should you ever need to use them again in the future. For additional information about SLIPSTREAM CORSAIR WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY Multipoint, we’ve put together a comprehensive FAQ over on the CORSAIR User Forums. • With the launch of our 4000 Series and 5000 Series cases, many of you may have noticed the addition of new case fans with something we call CORSAIR AirGuide Technology. Fans with CORSAIR AirGuide Technology, such as the newly released SP RGB ELITE series, feature anti-vortex vanes which help to channel concentrated airflow for improved cooling performance for your components. Case Fans… How Do They Work? Before jumping further into what makes AirGuide compelling for cooling, let’s review the purpose of a standard case fan. A typical case fan is designed to pull cold air from the intakes of your computer or push hot air out as exhaust. When installed properly, case fans will promote the exchange of heat from your components/heatsinks/radiators and the air to allow your components to cool off. When installed in a typical mid-tower case, the airflow of a standard case fan will look something like this: Airflow from a standard case fan.The air pulled through a standard case fan immediately spreads out into the case and while the air does have a general velocity away from the fan, it’ll quickly dissipate the further away from the fan blade it travels. When installed in a typical mid-tower case, the airflow of a fan equipped with CORSAIR AirGuide Technology will look something like this: Airflow from a case fan equipped with CORSAIR AirGuide Technology.Comparing these two example, you’ll notice that the airflow from an AirGuide fan is much more concentrated, reaching further into the case before eventually dissipating. What about Performance? If we had to put it simply, more fresh air = generally better temperatures. You can brute force this by installing as many fans as your chassis will take and cranking them up to their highest setting, but picking the right fan for the job will result in much better performance and a quieter system. We tested two identical systems using only SP RGB ELITE fans in one and SP RGB PRO fans in the other: As you can see from the graph, upgrading to higher airflow SP RGB ELITE fans on our test system resulted in improved CPU temperatures on our air cooled system! Another notable benefit of AirGuide fans is higher static pressure when compared to similar case fans without anti-vortex vanes. For example, here’s some data from a test bench where we compared the performance of the AirGuide Technology-equipped SP RGB ELITE fans to our SP RGB PRO fans. We measured coolant temperatures on a H150i ELITE CAPELLIX cooler, controlling for ambient temperature, CPU clock speed, voltage, pump profile, and fan RPM. At the same speed of 1000 RPM, SP RGB ELITE fans demonstrate a noticeable improvement in temperature control over the older SP PRO fans when used on the radiator of an all-in-one liquid CPU cooler. Conclusion Many may think that a fan is a fan as long as it spins and pushes air, but fan performance can’t be just pinned to how fast you can spin the blades. Seemingly small improvements like adding anti-vortex vanes to the rear of a fan like we did on our SP RGB ELITE can help give your system more thermal headroom, allowing you to keep your temperatures low and your framerates high. • CORSAIR Vengeance Gaming PCs with advanced graphics technologies like real-time ray tracing and DLSS AI up-scaling powered by NVIDIA RTX 30-Series graphics give you all the performance you need to play the latest AAA titles in full fidelity. CORSAIR Lab video explaining benefits of ray tracing and DLSS on systems powered by NVIDIA RTX.First, let’s briefly define and talk about what RTX Ray Tracing and DLSS are before we jump into why the CORSAIR Vengeance a7200 Gaming PC is a solid choice for modern titles. A game with ray tracing can have more realistic shadows, reflections, and lighting.RTX is NVIDIA’s implementation of real-time raytracing using dedicated RT cores baked into the GPU to do highly complex calculations for lighting and reflections. Allowing in-game environments to be even more immersive. DLSS can result in sharper, high resolution images without putting a huge load on your graphics card. While ray-traced lighting and shadows provide an easy to spot visual upgrade to games, DLSS (deep learning super sampling) is where the real magic is, boosting FPS by rendering a supported game at a lower resolution that is then upscaled using AI to produce frames at awesome quality.  Also note that turning raytracing on by itself is not recommended as current hardware are still struggling to handle such workloads without the help of DLSS. Without making this blog too long about how DLSS and raytracing work together, here’s a quick rundown. DLSS works on a game-by-game basis, using a model put together with machine learning on an NVIDIA supercomputer comparing aliased, low resolution frames from a game to “perfect” frame renders at a higher resolution. With all this information baked into the DLSS model, a game with DLSS will replicate these perfect high-res frames to produce cleaner, high resolution frames even though the game itself renders at a lower resolution on your machine. This helps to free up system resources for your game which results in higher framerates. Thus, allowing you a more enjoyable experience. These technologies are game changing and when paired with CORSAIR components in a system like the Vengeance i7200 or a7200, the RTX 30-series graphics cards run at peak performance with all the power and cooling they need to drive the latest AAA titles on all the “pretty settings”. Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX on features ray-traced shadows, reflections, global illumination, diffuse illumination, and ambient occlusion for a more vibrant, life-like Night City, making this a game that benefits greatly from NVIDIA DLSS. To demonstrate, we’ve set up a quick test on our Vengeance A7200, setting everything including Ray Tracing to ULTRA at 1440p, but keeping DLSS off. With those settings we managed 39.52 FPS on average. Testing again with DLSS set to quality mode, we hit an average FPS of 60.10, resulting in a much smoother experience while maintaining excellent quality. And to further drive the benefits of DLSS, we did a similar test with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this time cranking the resolution up to 4K with all settings including ray tracing set to maximum. Without DLSS, our average FPS was a respectable 55.86 frames per second. However, switching on DLSS Performance mode gave us a drastic improvement, increasing our average FPS to 77.55 with a barely noticeable difference in quality. And there you have it, CORSAIR Vengeance Gaming PCs and NVIDIA RTX graphics are the perfect pairing for your next upgrade, delivering gorgeous visuals and silky smooth gameplay! • One of the coolest features of our ELITE CAPELLIX RGB CPU liquid coolers is the removable cap for the pump head which you can swap out for an alternate an alternate pump cap included in the box along with the hardware you need to remove the pre-installed pump cap. But what if you want to do more to customize the look of your ELITE CAPELLIX cooler? 2D / 3D pump cap files can be found in the “DOWNLOADS” section of the product page. For those with the desire for DIY, we’ve provided files that can be used to 3D print your own custom pump caps! DIY ELITE CAPELLIX pump cap by Blacksad (left), stock ELITE CAPELLIX pump caps (right)And over on /r/CORSAIR as well as our own CORSAIR User Forums, community member Blacksad has put together a guide for users wanting to mod their existing ELITE CAPELLIX pump cap or a 3D printed blank. We’ve put together a condensed version of their guide, and you can click this link to read the full guide over on our User Forums. Thank you again Blacksad for sharing this with the CORSAIR community! Photo Credit: Blacksad, CORSAIR User ForumsHow to 3D Print Blank Pump Caps To get caps to 3D print, download the 3D files for the CORSAIR ELITE CAPELLIX CPU liquid cooler pump cap and take them to a 3D printing site or print on your own 3D/resin printer if you happen to have one. If you want a completely transparent blank pump cap, use a clear resin as the printing material and if you’re not concerned about transparency, you can print with a standard 3D printer using PLA or ABS filaments in very light colors which would allow the RGB lighting to shine through. Making Your Own Pump Cap Decals Use this template to get the dimensions of the area you have to work with for a custom design.<br> While a vinyl decal would produce the best results, you can try out a design by making a paper decal and sandwiching it between a blank, clear pump cap and the light diffusor of the pump head. Print out the design you’d like on one side of your paper, then mirror it and print it again on the other side to reduce the amount of light bleeding through the print.<br> If you have access to a vinyl cutter or intend on hand cutting a design, make sure that you reverse the image before cutting so that it’ll be oriented the correct way when applied to the bottom of the pump cap, especially if using vinyl with an adhesive side.<br> Once you’ve made your design, make sure to trim it down to size for the pump cap and install! Photo Credit: Blacksad, CORSAIR User ForumsBlanking a Stock Pump Cap If you don’t have access to a 3D printer or are unable to get a 3D printed pump cap made, you can mod one of the stock ELITE CAPELLIX pump caps! Put the stock pump cap down on a soft material such as a towel or paper towel to avoid scratching up the front of the pump cap. Use 180 to 220 grit sandpaper, and sand with moderate force repeatedly in a single direction, going in a cross pattern will scuff up the side of the pump cap you’re sanding and will likely make the pump cap cloudy (we would recommend wet sanding if possible). Repeat the sanding until the decals wear away. Rinse all dust from the pump cap and wipe dry with a paper towel.<br> Badsad has additional tips and tricks and links to 3D printing resources, options for decal paper, and more in their forum post. • Back with a Vengeance VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL refines the style of the highly popular VENGEANCE RGB PRO lineup, sporting a tweaked industrial design and measuring at just 44mm tall which greatly increases the compatibility of VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL with many cases in terms of clearance with top-mounted radiators. VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL matches high performance with refined style and wide compatibility. However, with many memory launches, we get loads of questions about picking the right kit for a wide variety of motherboards, CPUs, and systems in general. How Do I Find Compatible Memory? With our new memory, we’ve also launched a new memory finder on our website, integrated directly into the memory page, with loads of options to dial in your system config and get you paired up with compatible memory kits. Not all memory kits are created equal and picking compatible memory with the right mix of speed, latency, and capacity is important for a stable system. Our new memory finder can be accessed by clicking the “FIND BY COMPATIBILITY” button when on our memory page. The new CORSAIR Memory Finder is integrated directly into the memory category page on our website, you can start by clicking “FIND BY COMPATIBILITY”.From here, you can dial down compatibility by system like a CORSAIR ONE, CORSAIR VENGEANCE GAMING PC, or ORIGIN Gaming Notebook for example, or if you’re wanting to spec out memory for your own build, you can sort by motherboard and make the appropriate selections using the dropdown menus. The memory finder lets you filter compatibility by system or motherboard model.Once you’ve selected your system or motherboard, you can refine the results with filters for things like total kit capacity, number of modules, color, speed, or CAS latency. When shopping for memory, it’s good to keep in mind that speed is only part of the equation, if you want the fastest memory possible for your system, go for the fastest supported kit with as low latency as you can find, and depending on the application, it may actually be better to go with a lower speed kit with better (lower) latency. You can filter the results even more based on your preferences such as number of modules, total capacity, etc.Once you’ve found a module you like, click the “LEARN MORE” button to be taken to the product page for that memory and add it to cart! Picking the right CORSAIR memory for your system is easier than ever with tools like our memory finder.Of course, if you already know what memory you’re looking for you can just browse the normal way, but we hope that this new memory finder tool makes it easier for you if you’re still trying to make sense of it all! If you have any questions about CORSAIR memory products, join our community over on the CORSAIR User Forum, Reddit, and Discord!
