I bought corsair ddr3 4gb today , and i tried to plug it in my mobo ( ga-g41m-combo gigabyte) The mobo supports ddr3 but dont know what happens in my case. I plugged it in, pressed POWER ON and the cpu fan started working and then stopped, then again started working and then again stopped. If i let it ON it will continue like that. my bios is updated to the latest version. Used to have 2 ddr2 each 2 gb and they worked, and they still work even when i tried to get back on em. peanutz94 Posted May 26, 2013 Share Posted May 26, 2013 I am sorry to tell you that the Vengence or any other Corsair modules are no longer compatible with that MB. The chips used to make the modules are too large or dense for that MB to be able to use so the BIOS won't see them. Thiis is why it will not POST with the 4 gig module you have.
