  1. Hello there! I'm wondering if someone can help me. I had an 8x8 ddr3 ram in my pc. After some years (it is stil working) the pc freezes and the system must be restarted to work again. I noticed that someone took 4 ram of my system and now I have 4x8 totally 32GB. Could be this situation the reason of my pc freez? The 8x8 set of ram should only work together or not? The pc passed all the tests of hardware. No problems found. Thanks in advance.:dunno::question:
  2. Hi all, it's about time for a fresh general guide for using XMP/manually overclocking your memory so we've worked with Linus to put this quick video together. [ame] [/ame]
  3. Hi All, It's been a longtime since last posting on the forum. Unfortunately, repeated periods of various forms of ill-health over the past 10 years has prevented me from staying upto date on the forum here. I've obviously lost my account and required to reregistered. Not a problem, now I'm here, its nice to see some usernames I recognise, especially after all this time. I would like to increase the available RAM on my X58 motherboard to 12GB from 6GB and would like some advice? Here in UK I'm having difficulty finding DDR3 Dominator to match existing triple channel. Theres not much DDR3 about TBH, certainly not from my goto supplier anyway. I have found CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9 triple channel 12GB set that appears to be suitable or compatible with my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev2.0. I would simply like to get a little more life out of my very little used machine while I concentrate on saving for a new build... I'm sure I can get the correct info here. Would be most grateful should a forum member be able to advise from experience? Regards, Steven.
  5. I have a PC with: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 motherboard i7-2600K CPU 4GB (2 x 2Gb)Dominator kit for dual channel systems, 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24, 1.65V running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit I would like to replace the RAM and install Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Using the Corsair memory finder I picked out this: VENGEANCE® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 1600MHz C9 Memory Kit as a possibility. The P67 chipset doesn't feature in the compatibility section of the memory finder, I guess because it is so old, but my motherboard is listed in the drop down for Gigabyte boards. I won't be attempting any over clocking, it's a work machine. Any comments welcome.
  6. Hi everyone, I ordered a double pack of Corsair RAM (Corsair MacMemory CMSA16GX3M2A1600C11 Kit 16 GB/ (2x8 GB), DDR3L, 1600 MHz, Apple Certified, SODIMM) from Amazon lately. Today I received the product. And I am not sure whether I have got what I wanted. The front of the package is labelled DDR3L but on both RAMs themselves are labelled DDR3 ! I have also attached pictures. Are they actually DDR3? Has anyone come across this and can you give me some light? If they are DDR3, I am going to contact Amazon to return them as I wanted DDR3L. Thank you in advance. Bon
  7. Hi, fellas! I'm curious whether I will can able to run this kit(CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R) to 1T Command Rate at 2400MHz, stock latency(11-13-13-31) and voltage, with current setup(can be seen in specs)? Anyone has experience with these CPU's(Kaveri) IMC and 1T Command Rate at stated speed and latency with this RAM kit, or 1T at 2400 MHz is a mission impossible? Thanks for the adequate and fast response! I will post results if I get the Vengeance Pro kit.
  8. Subject line nearly says it all. Here's the Situation-- Mobo: Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 (Rev 1.3) [specs] CPU: Intel i52 500K Current RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Corsair Vengeance DDR3 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V (model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9) Propose to Add: 4GB (1x4GB) Corsair "XMS3" DDR3 9-9-9-24 @ 1.50V (model CMX4GX3M1A13333C9) RAM Overclocking etc.: None Will these run together? (I'd just buy another pair of Vengeance sticks, but I expect to build a new PC soon) Thanks!
  9. Hello. I'm going to buy a CORSAIR Vengeance CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 4GB memory. I have a Gigabyte P55A-UD4 (Socket 1156) motherboard with Intel Core i5 661. So as far as I know the only working option for me is a dual-rank memory with 16 chips. But I can't find out how many chips are on the module looking at the photo because of a radiator on them. I found this thread and here is the problem. I have a broken CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 4GB v2.12 memory and I can see 16 chips on it. But according to the table in that thread there should be 8 chips (256Mx8). So I'm totally confused. Could you please explain me, what have I got wrong? Or could you just tell me how much chips are on the following modules (pics from online stores)?
  10. Hello, I have 16GB ddr3 1600mhz CORSAIR ram (2x4GB cml16gx3m4a1600c9b 9-9-9-27 and 2x4GB cml8gx3m2a1600c9 9-9-9-24). I've installed them in ASUS M4A89GTD PRO mobo (+AMD Phenom II 1100T). When I go into BIOS Ai Tweaker Section and setup all RAM settings to AUTO (target freq is 1333), memtest doesn't reports any error and windows 10 works properly. If I change Ai Overlock Tuner to D.O.C.P and choice Profile #1 (1600Mhz, 9-9-9-24, 1.5v) memtest ALWAYS report errors and Windows doesn't work properly :( Do you have any idea if those RAM's can work properly together? What settings I should use to not get any errors in memtest?
  11. I have 2 x 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 (1.5v), and 2 x 8GB 2400MHz DDR3 (1.65v) I can either put all four of them together, and get 32GB at 1600MHz, or I can use the 16GB at 2400Mhz keeping the 1600MHz as spare. Any advantage for either options? Any opinions on which config should I keep? I also read recently the opinions are swinging from "RAM speed doesn't matter" to "RAM speed matters for newer games", which might be a reason to . Is there any benefit to 32GB over 16GB if I don't make use of it directly - e.g. the may be OS optimizes or caches more? I mostly use the computer to play games (Windows 10) as the most demanding task. I also use the computer occasionally for development of codes sometimes.
  12. Hi! I'm new to the forum and my question is regarding upgrading my system (HPE-541f with 8gb of ram) with new DDR3 memory for total of 16gb. My plan is to remove my old memory (4x2gb) and buy 12gb (3x4GB) of "Corsair Xms3 12 GB 3 X 4 GB 1333Mhz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3" (CMX12GX3M3A1333C9) and also add 4gb of "Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3" (CMX4GX3M1A1333C9). Can I combine memory kits like this to get 16gb? Currently I have 8gb (4x2gb) of ram on my system, running Windows 7 Home premium 64bit. Thanks!
