Just wondering which ICs are in these modules. Did a whole load of searching, but to no avail. I would take the heatspreaders off and check myself, but I've seen too many horror stories of ICs getting ripped off the PCB in the process.

I checked the thread linked in the sidebar, however there is no version number on the sticker.

Please post a pic, as they always have a version number.

Corsair's site does not list versions because it's irrelevant.

"post buyed"? The only way to know what a memory's version number is by looking at the label of the stick itself. The list above probably doesn't correspond to laptop memory though. Why do you want to know the ICs for laptop memory?

Are those chips using Elpida Hyper?

CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 Ver. 2.1

They are on stock in one of webstores I buy, so I can't take the HS off and check for chips...

It's 6GB kit, actually I'd need 4 or 8GB, because I've dual channel mobo ASUS Rampage Extreme + QX9770, so I'll just not use one of sticks.

I've also noticed that some memory is ver 2.x and still not having elpida chips, how do I know for sure which are used? A friend of mine also took the HS off and have seen I think that PSC, while the memory was rev. 3.1 I think :SS

What do I need to know 100%, part number + rev + any other number? Where can I get correct information, I need to buy new memory and have looking in few webstores, so all the information I have is part number, so I have to call and ask for revision or any other number beside revision?

I need Micron D9GTR/GTS or Elpida Hyper and now I'm really confused of how to verify if there're really Elpida or Micron chips used :SS

Sorry for my bad english.

regards,

Bogdan

It's Elpida. There is no way of knowing if it is Hypers without looking at the ICs.

Great thnx.

I also won a bid on ebay, the seller also sent me a pics of stickers and here are the numbers:

CM3X2048-1600C9DHX under this is XMS3-1600 ... 2048MB ... 1600MHz

on the sticker on the other side:

9-9-9-24 ... 1.80V ver 3.2 ... 08290067

So those are with Micron IC's? Maybe do you know D9GTR/GTS?

Thank you,

best regards,

Bogdan

OK, so there's 100% it's elpida for rev 2.x and Micron for 3.x, but not necessarily Hypers or D9GTR/GTS? What if on my friend's are Elpida Hyper and I get same model and rev, just a little difference in serial numbers, mine would be produced a little later, friends has "Corsair Dominator GT DHX+ TC 6GB (3 x 2GB) 2000Mhz CL8 DDR3" CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 Ver. 2.1 ... s/n 10190571 and mine are "Corsair Dominator GT DHX+ TC 6GB (3 x 2GB) 2000Mhz CL8 DDR3" CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 Ver. 2.1 ... s/n 10369532? Any chance of getting same ICs?

OK, one more thing, it's no way that I could possibly get Hypers if I buy new in a webstore, else the stock is old? Because those I can get are from webstore from my country and are new, so there's Elpida but no Hypers right?

When were they produced with hyper's or Micron D9GTR/GTS, I'll try to get them by date of being produced, I think that's probably the only way where's most possible to get those right?

regards,

Bogdan
