noneone
Hi all! I have an asrock taichi x470 motherboard. It (and several other motherboards) have both an 8 AND a 4 pin 12v connector. The tx850m only has an 8 pin 12 volt connector. Its curious, because the modular part of the tx850m has plugs labeled (4+4 cpu) but, only has PCIE cables to plug into those plugs. :( Am I missing a cable in the PSU box? Doesn't look like it from the manual. any help here? Thanks!
DevBiker
You'd have to get that cable separately. The additional 4-pin (or, in some cases, 8-pin) CPU power connector is something that's really quite new on mainstream desktop systems and started after this PSU was released. Traditionally, it's been reserved for HEDT systems and, thus, higher-end PSUs than the TX series. They Type 4 EPS 12V should work with that PSU. I would suggest that you confirm that with Corsair support.
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted May 6, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted May 6, 2019 You will need an additional 8pin (4+4) EPS cable as your PSU only comes with one. Any of the Type 3 or Type 4 EPS cables will work with your PSU.
