  1. Build on hold for another week now as my delivery of Alphacool Nexxxos 45's V2 1 x 420mm and 2 x 360mm 45's v2 posted back to Germany. How unlucky can i get, must be a black cloud over me. The 360's had small dings in the sides (looked like a golf ball) these and the 420mm had awful blotchy paint. Never had an issue before with there quality, must be covid and not giving a toss. Peed off now, at least my 16 fan 50cm rgb ext cables for the front will be here tomorrow.
  2. Cheers, Will have a play to see how it sits, am i right with the pick LeDoyen. UPS strikes again,, no rad delivery today now 5pm.
  3. I am after a Corsair Hydro XG7 Rgb extension lead, any one know where i can get one from please within the good old Uk. (why can't Corsair just use standard connectors). Aghh. Excuse the nails ..i am stressed.
  4. Thank you for your idea, do you mean like the pic below, but slid on the loop bracket closer to the right, towards the glass. I would loose the fans on the right rad inside though ,is that right, or am i looking at it wrong LeDoyen.
  5. Just thought i would place a few parts in case to see how they looked. 350mm Linkup pcie 4.0 extreme riser cable arrived, Still have to fit Asus 10gb fibre pci card in so i got the 300mm one with a bit more head room. Will also get some 5mm black pads just to sit under the riser pcb plate on the power supply shroud. Pity the stand offs are in the wrong place , could have done with holes like the pump top plate on the h/drive caddy. Rads should be here today from Alphacool if UPS decide not to change delivery again, then goes the stress part of wiring the fans ..oh joy. What do you guys think of location of res/riser cable length or any other valuable info/advice. Just on ebay now to get a corsair rgb extender cable for the XG7 gpu block as its way to short, will prob have to get some for the LL fans but will see when fastened to the rads how many i need.
  6. Any ideas on riser cable length on top pcie 4.0 slot to the power supply standoffs on Corsair 1000D please. I have tried to measure as the crow flies and bending the tape measure in a bit of a loop to the standoffs ,i get around 300mm.as i will be mounting it using the twin vertical io plates towards the front glass.
  7. c-attack It will be the 2 x 360s push pull front and 2 fans above the rads to fill the spare holes ,then the 6 x 140s up top then the 2 at the rear or 1 x 140 at the rear.
  8. Thank you guys, c-attack... but you could dedicate one Commander to one stack? LeDoyen ..and only run one cable to the controller? (commander pro) i take it. I am snapshotting the hell out of this advice for quick reference. Why oh why could corsair no go down the simple Lian li connect fans together way, then one lead to rule them all.
  9. Hi. Just wondering how much power draw 22 Corsair LL 120/140 fans would need guys, and how many can you run on a single channel at a time pwm or splitters using the corsair hardware. I will be starting my build this weekend if the rads arrive from Alphacool, and im in 2 minds as to run the fans from pwm hubs and above corsair gear that came with the fans.( how many would i need as i have 2 x commander pros) or get an Aquacomputer OCTO with 7 x pwm headers with 100w total 25w per channel. It also says you can use splitters. https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3832 Could use this for my Ek Quantum Kinetic FLT 360 res/pump Rgb to get flow/temp as i did with the Aquaero 5 pro i just took out from 900D. What do you think guys.
  10. Someone else posted photos of waterblocks gunked with corsair coolant a few days ago...I saw that too, that is when i just happened to look at my sons loop when i noticed it. His rads are Ek coolstreams and were flushed with hot water numerous times when opened.I did check it a couple of months ago and noticed his soft tubing was not clear anymore but did not see the flakes coating the tubeing until i flicked it in the area in the pic. His tubing is XSPC FLX 19/13. Can not get to strip his down for a deep clean and hard tube change yet as im on with mine. As above ..if i use distilled water, what other protection do i put in that is in premixed coolants.
  11. Thank you for that LeDoyen. My son in law says Linkup pcie-4.0 riser cables are the best ,he has one running at full speed on his x570 / nvidia gtx 3090for his Ms flight sim game. I will ask him to get me a 270-300MM Linkup pcie-4.0 riser cable ,and cross my fingers my 2080 super is detected and set to pcie-3.0 on the x570 rog crosshair formula board.
  12. Thank you LeDoyen for your quick response. So if i buy a Linkup pcie-4.0 cable (best ones known to work properly) do you think it would post to bios, as i read somewhere if you use a pcie-3.0 riser on a pcie-4.0 board you get a black screen and can not get to bios screen to change it,or is it rubbish. I just do not want to buy 3.0 cable then a gen 4.0 after xmas it is a waste. I do not want to get it set up and it not be able to get into bios and then have to strip it all down.
  13. Hi . I was planning on putting Ek's Mystic Fog coolant into my loop (bought 3ltrs) but froze in horror over the weekend when i saw some You tube vids slating Ek's mystic fog for breaking down in there loop after a few months. I do not know what to in this instance ,as i have always put clear coolant in my loops and never had any issues ,namely Ek's Cryofuel clear. With my new Corsair 1000D build i thought sod it, its about time i used some colour, surly they must have sorted all the issues of coolant stain/breakdown in loops, they have had years to sort this. Then i noticed my sons Corsair build i did a year ago (pic below), the Ek Cryofuel clear was breaking down in his loop, i was shocked as my previous 900d build used the same coolant and was fine on my yearly flush/refill. I just stripped down my 900d build and cleaned the cpu block and the Hydro xg7 block and they were fine. When i tap on my sons soft tubing you can see some flakes breaking away and go through the loop and around the res. This is going to be a major clean and install, good time to set his up with hard tubing. Have other guys on here had issues with coolants breaking down, or brands that you have used that did not. If i decide to sack the Ek Mystic fog off and use pure distilled water instead, what do i need to put in the loop along with the water please. Thank you
  14. Hi guys. Just getting my final bits n bobs in for my build, but could do with some help please. I have 2x commander pros 6x corsair rgb hubs 5x corsair light nodes 1x Deep Cool 10 port pwm hub 22 corsair LL fans 2X 10 pack pwm extenders 2x 10 pack pwm twin spitters 2x Alphacool Nexxxos 360mm ut45 v2 front of case and 1x Alphacool Nexxxos ut45 420mm top. What would be the best way you guys have used to shrink the hardware down to connect all the fans with the above stuff listed (bought some coloured stickers like other guys on here have done, to map out the fans). Number of pwm hubs / corsair rgb spitters or how many fans per port at a time i can use. Any help you could offer to simplify this would be greatly appreciated Thank you
  15. Hi chaps. Would app some help please on the correct length of pcie-3.0 riser cable length to get for the the corsair 1000d case that some of you guys have used on the 1000d location below. This would fit to the standoffs on the power supply shroud/vertical g/card x2 slot section(as i need the other horizontal slot for my Asus 10gb fibre card) .This would be on the ROG Crosshair VIII Formula AMD X570 board. As the Evga 2080 super card is fitted with the corsair hydro xg7 water block ,how would i go about or the best way to get into the bios and change it to pcie-3.0 setting from standard auto. Would this not detect the pcie-3 cable and change it ,as its going to be custom loop if it does not post will i then have to drain the loop, or do i buy a cheap £70 g/card to get into bios and set it manually before refitting the 2080 super and riser cable. I was going to get a pcie-4.0 linkup cable and hoped it would drop down auto to the 3.0 setting to save me some cash as a future upgrade but note sure if it would work. Any help would be appreciated Thank you
  16. Was also thinking about putting the existing 360 60 rad at the front and but another to match, then use the 420 60 rad that i bought from alphacool at the top so not to waste the 6 140 ll fans , also its a pain to send it back to aqua tuning in germany. Or try 2 x 480 28mm ek coolstreams at the front and their 420 28mm at the top with just 3 fans on push,do you thing that would clear the clash point in the upper right corner where they meet. What do you thing Zotty
  17. Nice build Zotty. Im having so many issues with this case,so was thinking 2 x 40 or 30mm 480s front and would a 30mm 420 fit in thr roof or is it a def 360 40mm in the roof (why inc a 420 rail if it will not fit) ,so much room in front of rad tray top and bottom if you flip them over and put back in but the raised holes stop rad fitment, should have been smooth, then you could gain another 25mm. Ive 6 ll 140 fans that i prob can not fit because corsair did not think the top tray out properly and will prob have to buy another 6 x 120s for the 360 in the new tray i have bought. Will prob be only running 1 d5 on the ek quantum flt 360 res ,sits nice on the h/drive tray. Could i ask Zotty, what length gen 3/4 riser cable did you use please angle or straight and did it attatch to the standoffs on the power supply shroud,i Does it fit in the double vertical slots that are on their own, i have a 2080 super evga with the corsair xg7 block. Would app any info you could give. Jesus the 900d was so easy to build in .
  18. Thank you LeDoyen for your quick response. Why have a 420 rad tray up top on release of the case if it will not sit above the top of the 480mm front rads ,or will 30mm 420 fit with just push . The wired thing is, i took the top 420 tray out and flipped it the other way a slotted it back in. you could put a fan above the tray that filled the void and allowed the fan to sit further up towards the roof that the design team should have done and it still slid out then in again, but the other side of the tray is not flat and each hole stands proud about 2-3mm so the rad can not fix there,i don’t think. so i might have to fit the single 480 tray up there and a 40mm 360 rad. what are cross flow rads ?. I hope that some forum members see this post and offer some advice or if they have managed putting the 420 rad up top.
  19. Hi Could any body offer some clarity in rad size and thickness in the Corsair 1000d please. I can not use my alphacool rads as they are 60mm thick. The top rail is 420mm but is poorly designed because if i put 2 480x40mm rads at the front, then the 420 can not fit in Alphacool or Ek coolstream. So will i have to put the 4 x 120mm fan tray i have bought and then use a 360x40mm rad and use the spare hole for a fan. If so it would mean i have to sell the 6 x 140 ll fans i bought, seems to be a design flaw with the case. Any ideas guys.
  20. Well what a waste of a week. Bought the Corsair 1000D For £240 instead of £480 online (local guy had bought it but changed his mind and put it up on ebay). I snapped it up at that price it was brand new (still had all the plastic on it ), he had only had it for a few days but could not send it back as he had thrown the box. The issue is.. i have stripped down my beloved Corsair 900D build and i am selling 90 percent of the parts on ebay inc the 900d as its still in as new condition boxed. So i have an Alphacool Nexxxos 480 ut60 rad and a Alphacool Nexxxos 360 ut60 rad from the 900d build, plus 21 new Corsair LL120/140 fans plus the Ek Quantum Kinetic FLT 360mm res( flat). Maximus xi x570 croshair board and Amd 5900x for the new build. I looked at the specs of the 1000D and it states 420 at the top and 480s at the front. So silly me had to order a 420mm Nexxxos ut 60 to match the rail at the top, when it arrived as the pics below show..(.IT DOES NOT FIT Corsair) the top rad covers the front rads fittings. Even if i changed the top 420 rad to 30mm thick it still will block the fittings. Then i checked Corsair George promo for the 1000D and i find that he has used a 360mm rad up top to create distance from the front rad. So why inc a 420 rail at the top if it will not fit or clash with front rad. I have ordered a 4 x 120mm rail for the top, but again will have problems with the 360mm ut60 push pull as it will hit the res as it it is 360mm high not inc its ek loop bracket. So guys what do i d ?? Do i sell my 480 ut60 and the 360 ut 60 from my 900d build and send the 420 ut60 back to Aquatuning, then buy 2 x 30mm 480s front and a 420 30mm or 360 30mm rad for the top. I do not want to get rid of the Ek Quantum Kinetic flt 360mm res as it looks better than its 300mm cylinder ver. I can not believe Corsair did not make the hd cage removable (its the most common thing on cases now). I know about drilling rivets out, but i should not have to. Just inc a couple of pics below of my sons corsair Build in a Thermaltake view 71 rgb with a Corsair 360 60mm front rad and a top 420 45mm rad (no trouble there), And my previous 900d build using the Nexxxos 60mm thick rads. So why is this case so lg but has issues with rad size/thickness/layout. I could really do with some advice and help in this matter so i can finally start my hard line build.
  21. Hi Could i swap the front tray with the top 140mm and vise versa. Corsair 1000d. As i have major rad isues.
  22. Just a question , If i use the vertical gpu bracket for my 2080 super, how can i install my asus 10gb fiber adapter card that needs a pcie slot the right way.
  23. Hi guys. Just doing some maintainance on my Corsair Hydro Xg7 / Evga 2080 super FE Gpu block ,came up rather nice. The pads need replacing,do you have any recomendations of pad thickness in areas of the card also link to site to purchase them if you can (uk). The ones ive put on the plastic is stuck fast on the lighter ones. Thank you.
