jimmytodd
I recently purchased a dell xps 8500 . I would like to get a new gpu there seem to be conflicting opinions on whether or not i need a new psu . the 8500 comes with a 460w powersupply . I have been looking at the CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC . my question is will this psu work in this system. and if not could someone suggest a better option. peanutz94
The problem I believe most are talking about is that DELL often uses proprietary PSu's , so aftermarket PSU's might not work. All you can do is to try one and see. But spec wise, it should work.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 28, 2013 Best is to contact Dell and ask for the ATX12V spec of the MB their using for that particular model. All our PSU will support ATX12V 2.01 version and later.
