Hi all,

I really really hope you guys can help me.I have an high end laptop the asus k75vm i wanted to make it even faster so i bought the corsair force gs 128 gb.

I work in a computershop so my IT knowledge is prettygood but even this i can't solve.Me and my boss he knows olmost everything he is like a specialist lol.

When we put the corsair force gs in the laptop it detects the ssd and a minute later it doesnt detects it anymore and this goes on and on for hours what we did was everything... what we could think of ssd firmware update wasnt possible because there werent any. We flashed bios to the latest version changed thesata configuration from ide to ahci and it doesnt change anything. I called asus support they told me that the ddon't support hardware upgrades i asked him if my laptop does have sata 3 he had to ask a specialist 2 hours later the guy mails me with the answer that it doesnt have sata3 however the bios and oss install does find the ssd sometimes when it detects the ssd so it must have sata3.We started at 08:00 Am and at 20:00 pm we gave up there wasnt any solution tried everything... even when with a windows install the ssd is detected it sometimes said: cant install because the hardware configuration in bios isnt right. And sometimes it didnt said that i could proceed with the install but when copying files in stops giving me a errror code 0x0080057 or something like that googled it micosoft talks about an anti virus or a back up... nothing to do with this.I got so frustrated i went to the nearest store to buy an other ssd bought the vertex 4 120gb put it in the laptop bios set ahci mode. Detects the ssd i can install windows ( btw oss install w8 pro 64bits) i got windoes installed withh all updates drivers etc installed call of Duty play online boem screen freezes i got to shut down the computer because it wont response to anything else and then when it boots up it says:**Disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter

The corsair force and vertex4 plugged in a other computer with windows running sees the ssd without any problem. Please help me what else can i do... the corsair i couldnt get an oss install with the vertex i did get it but now it randomly freezes... ow and after the freezing and it says boot failure the vertex isnt detected anymore in the bios.... i got to wait a couple of minutes or take the vertex out the laptop plugg back in then it boots again runs windows untill the freezeI got 2 slots i changed the ssd from slot 1 to slot 2 so changed places hdd and ssd doesnt matter...*Vertex 4 firmware update failed code 36 before i got this error it said u have the latest version do u want to continue i said yes and then it said failed.I saw many people talking about raid but i cant find it anywhere in the bios..

Please corsair forum help me!!

Oss install doesn't matter i tried w7 and w8 on the corsair force gs if the ssd gets detected and i can get to the installation progress it says can't install because harsware configuration in the bios isnt right and when it doesn't give this error it installs but when installing os it says error code tried oss install from cd and usb

I posted the same story at OCZ forum please help me the corsair force gs doesn't work at all the vertex 4 did work but at reboot same problem please does anyone have a solution

If there are problems with the Corsair drive and the Competitor one, It's probable the laptop's chipset is not compatible with the drives.

Install Windows 7 on the other PC with AHCI enabled and plug it back to the laptop. Does it boot from it?

nope it doesn't boot.

called asus again they told me they were 100% that the laptop only has sata2 and that the ssd sata3 backwards is compitable but that i can get problems like am having now.

so thats the reason that im selling this laptop and buying an new laptop asked asus support if the laptop that i want to buy has sata3 they said propably they weren't sure...

so my question now is will this asus laptop have sata3? and when i plug in the corsair force gs does it going to work?

link: http://nl.hardware.info/productinfo/160952/asus-n76vj-t4006h#tab:specificaties (note site is in dutch)

laptop: ASUS N76VJ-T4006H

the cpu and graphic card is better then what i have now and it has an audio system by bang&olufson but the main thing is does it have sata3? and will the corsair force gs work on it?

please help.

thanks in advance

The issue maybe the connection in the Notebook check that the drive is staying firmly in place once its installed and you might try and clean the contacts with some contact cleaner on the Notebook. And make sure that AHCI is enabled in the BIOS, If that continues to happen we can do an RMA on the drive but I suspect that your NB just has a touchy connector and using another system may solve it even the same model.

But if the SSD works fine in another system and the fact that the competitor's drive displays almost the same symptom would tend to support my theory.

it supports your theory the vertex4 same symptoms only a bit better because on the force gs i couldn't even get a oss install on the vertex i did and runs windows for ... time and then freezes rebooting and diskboot failure...

Please Guru help me will this laptop work with the force gs? does this laptop have sata3?

Yes it should work with that NB but you would have to ask ASUS if it supports S-ATA 3 or not; most NB's have been limited to S-ATA II in their BIOS even if the chipset supports S-ATA III speeds.

hmm oke i need a answer to that if it has sata3 or not i will call asus 100 times untill i get a 100% sure answer.

and my current laptop guru? ocz forums said based on my curent chipset it should have sata 3 the said but that it maybe disabled in the bios but there isn't a function to enable and dissable sata3...

damn you asus damn you
