cinek Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 turned the psu off (button at the back) this morning, no reason tbh - got back home, turned it back on and something blew up. The was a flash in the psu. No idea what might have caused this ;/ never had any issues. So I turned it back off, after a minute or so I turned it back on (no bang), turned the pc on, and everything seems to be fine. I haven't tried to play any games etc any ideas what this might be? Should I RMA it? btw the pc is connected to a Belkin power surge, everything connected to it was/is still on. peanutz94 Posted January 29, 2013 Share Posted January 29, 2013 It's not all that uncommon for psu switch to spark when turned on. But a "bang" is not:) In any case I wouldn't use it for now. Maybe see if you can look down through the fan and look for any damage. I suspect a blown capacitor or something similar.
