Toasted
Try an older version of Parted Magic. Probably 6.X
richardd43
Or, you can use diskpart which is already installed. Run diskpart.exe 1 list disk 2 select disk x with x being the number given for your ssd 3 clean (this destroys all partition/volume data on the disk) 4 create partition primary align=1024 5 active 6 format fs=ntfs quick 7 exit
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 27, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 27, 2012 I would suggest using an older version of Parted Magic and DO NOT USE Disk part to erase the SSD.
richardd43
I would suggest using an older version of Parted Magic and DO NOT USE Disk part to erase the SSD. Am not sure why you say that. I have used DiskPart for years and have never had a problem with my SSDs
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 31, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 31, 2012 Disk Part was not made for use with SSD's while it may work it may not work properly and if it writes one's or zeros to the drive this can damage the performance. You are welcome to use what ever you like it is your drive but I would suggest using what has been officially tested and supported for our SSD's. And I am sorry I cannot allow it to be suggested to other users as its not an acceptable application. Applications that are acceptable for use with SSD's are: HDD Erase - complicated to use and an older program GParted - Command Line and complicated to use Parted Magic - based on Gparted but point and click much easier to use.
