Thorsten753
Hi I would like to use RedHat or Ubuntu with an SSD. But I also have the choice to use Windows 7. Would it possible be better to use Windows 7? Did Microsoft possible implement things in Windows 7 which the openSource community has not yet implemented in Linux? Especially thinkng about fewer writes to the disk and things like that. Thanks Thorsten

Thorsten753
Well I know TRIM is supported by Linux since 2.6.33 (Feb 2010) I am just wondering if Windows 7 does more that Linux maybe does not. Especially thinking about writing less to the disk and things like that.
Synbios
I don't believe so, the main thing is TRIM. If Linux supports TRIM now then you should be fine with that. Use whatever OS you feel the most comfortable with.
