memorysan
I just got everything set up with my new Nova Series 128G and these are the results compared to what New Egg has it rated at. Is this normal? Is there something I am supposed to do to get the speeds up to what it is rated at? http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7379/firsttest.jpg Is this why it says "up to" before the rating? It's still better than what I had before, but just wondering if this is normal? Also, is this enough of a difference that I would even notice the difference from day to day use if it was at it's rated speed vs. what it is showing up to actually be on the benchmark? Another quick question...is this a decent benchmark program or is there a better one I should be using?
Wired
It's your boot drive, correct?
memorysan
Yes, I have Windows, Firefox and other programs on it...does that slow it down?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 29, 2010 I would suggest using ATTO to bench mark the drive and yes if its the BOOT drive you will loose some of the performance due to the O.S. over head.
memorysan
From 512 on using ATTO, I am getting about 190 write, 240 read. Does this seem about right for the driving being the boot / Windows drive?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 30, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 30, 2010 Yes that is about normal with it as a O.S./Boot drive.
