dd717
Hello, I need to know what the difference is in these two sets of Ram? Both are Brand New TwinX sets totalling 4GB(4X1GB). One set is labeled: CMX1024-3200C2PT XMS3202V3.1 And the other set is labelled: CMX1024-3200C2PT XMS3202V8.1 Can you tell me the difference between V3.1 & V8.1? Was the Version 3.1 on the shelf alot longer than the Version 8.1? Should I have matching Version numbers before I install all 4 Chips in my build? Thank you. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 18, 2009 With two sets of these modules I would suggest setting them to DDR333 at Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.75 Volts and the version number merely shows the IC used to build the module and has nothing to do with when they were manufactured. dd717
Well I still have all these great parts sitting before me, and am patiently waiting for some heavy duty Sound Dampening foam to complete the case, and Corsair is going to RMA both my sets of TwinX I bought at different retailers so I have compatible version numbers as recommended. As soon as the correct Memory arrives I should be done all the assembly and pop in the correct Ram and have a Quiet modern Home Theatre PC to enjoy. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 15, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 15, 2009 That part is no longer available and there will not be any way we can promise you will get two sets of the same version.
