redone13
I cannot run these modules at 1600Mhz whatsoever. My problem is that when I change my DRAM frequency and Uncore frequency from Auto, my system becomes unstable. If I run it at BCLK*10 or 1600Mhz and Uncore at BLCK*20, my computer becomes unable to complete HyperPi 32m or even 1m for that matter and will restart randomly through regular usage. This applies to whether my BCLK is stock at 133*12 for 1600Mhz DRAM frequency or OCed at 160*10 as previously mentioned. The ram WILL work if I leave DRAM frequency at AUTO and Uncore frequency at AUTO as well. It will pass Hyper PI and various stress tests yet I will still get the occasional random restart. Testing the sticks one by one, none of them seem to able to run at 1600 Mhz solo despite pushing my CPU VTT pretty high. Also Memtest is not giving me errors at 1600Mhz. I have been able to run 1600Mhz modules on this mobo before so I am wondering if I should RMA this ram.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 14, 2009 Please go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults then enable XMP to profile one and exit the BIOS saving changes and run http://www.memtest.org on the system. Will it pass 2-3 passes of Memtest?
redone13
Hmm, interestingly I cannot find any XMP options in my BIOs. I got the DFI UT T3eH8 with the newest BIOs. I do see what the XMP settings are supposed to be according to CPU-Z unless there's is a different way to enable XMP? After some more research, this board doesn't support XMP lol. I set the timings manually to 8-8-8-24 and 2N. DRAM voltage to 1.650 and CPU VTT to 1.24. DRAM frequency is at 133*12 and Uncore is at 133*24. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 17, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 17, 2009 The QPI VTT should be 1.35 Volts to run them at DDR1600 and if its still not stable I would try 1.45 Volts.
ReXified
Try this dude. I have same ram and board and rock stable. Remeber to adjust other settings according to your cpu though if different. Check my specs. redone13
Well, I've finally gotten around to checking out everything. Tried the RAM in a different system with XMP and it's a no go. The mobo was an ASRock X58 Extreme with a D0 I7 920. I've tried the QPI voltage all the way up to 1.45 and it hasn't improved which seems pretty extreme. I've also tried configs similar to yours ReXified where I jack up the BCLK and lower the multiplier while disabling everything in CPU feature to no avail. Every voltage combo hasn't worked even with DIMM DQ and DIMM VREF on and even if I switch the frequency from nominal to somethin like reduced or increase. This has been an issue regardless of my BIOS version. I'm at the end of my wits trying to get this to run at 1600Mhz. I've picked up much info from I4memory and the DFI forum about tweaks specific to the T3eH8 and tried just about everything but nothing has worked. I have a feeling it is just these sticks. On a side note, why is the site blocking out An tec? I try to type An tec 1200 into my specs for case and it turns into ********.
