BloodPig
Hello everyone. I am trying to boot my PC at 1600 ddr3. I have a 2x2 gig 4 gigs total memory set. Now it won't boot at 1600 even though i bought DDR3 1600. It down clocks to 1066. I have tried entering the timings and voltage with no go. If anyone on here could enter in some detail how to adjust everything in the memory I would appreciate it. Also does my cpu speed need to be higher? It's currently at 3.16ghz. Thanks to anyone who can help. My rig details should be above in this post.

DerekT
Download Memtest86+ V2.11 from--->Hereand extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk. Download CPU-z from Here .Performance Host Clock Frequency Override = Manual x Host Clock Frequency (Mhz) = 333 Memory Configuration Reference Frequency = 400 Memory Frequency = 1600 tCL = 9 tRCD= 9 tRP = 9 tRASmin = 24 tRFC = 80 tRRD = 4 tWR = 10 tWTR = 5 tRTP = 5 Memory Voltage = 1.7v MCH voltage = 1.30v Command Rate 2T Boot to the Memtest CD and allow for two full passes. Then, if stable, enter Windows and run CPU-z. Post screenshots of CPU-z's CPU, Memory and SPD tabs.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 3, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 3, 2009 With Intel chipsets the memory frequency cannot be set faster than the CPU FSB and yours is a 1333 FSB that why it will not run at DDR1600.
BloodPig
Yup you're right. I down clocked to 1333 for my memory. And it boots. No go at 1600 though. What about OCing my processor FSB? If the temps stay low enough do you think i could try that?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 3, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 3, 2009 Yes that would be the only way to run faster is to over clock the CPU.
