rosa
I have a Dell Dimension 4700 with two 256MB modules. I just received from new egg a Corsair Value Select 1GB Memory Module Kit (two 512MB modules). Packing List shows package as MEM 512Mx@|CORSR 240P VS1GBKIT533D2. Do I have the correct sticks for my computer? (I'm not able to align the notch on the bottom of the module with the crossbar in the connector.) Thank you. rosa
Wired
http://www.corsair.com/configurator/system_results.aspx?id=48796 Confirmed that it does indeed use DDR2, so that memory should fit. Try flipping the stick around, could be backwards.
rosa
Thanks for your reply. I'm encouraged to know that I did order the correct stick. I tried flipping it, and the alignment was way off. It's very close the other way, but not close enough!!??? I'm pushing really hard, but I can't get it seated. The securing clips aren't able to snap into the cutouts. Any other suggestions???
DerekT
Do you have another stick in the first slot? If so, can you remove it and check the form factor against the new stick? Can you insert that stick in the second slot?
rosa
I guess I just needed assured that I had the right memory. I didn't want to force the sticks too hard and break anything. It was difficult, but thankfully, the sticks are installed and recognized by my computer! Thank you again for your reply! :):
