just_laze
Hello, One of the gold contacts intended to act as an interface between the memory module and the motherboards DIMM slot has corroded on my module to the point where it's flaked off entirely. In addition two contacts on the flip-side of the module appear to be splattered with solder and a third is also showing signs of corrosion. I would like to have the module replaced, only, the warranty sticker has also 'corroded' and there's very little useful information left as most of the black ink has rubbed off entirely. I purchased two identical modules at the same time, the other module is in perfect working order and the gold contacts show no sign of corrosion, the warranty sticker is also crystal clear. How can I move forward with this? (please see attachment) Regards, just_laze

just_laze
In what respect? It's still stuck on the module, granted, but the information on the sticker itself is visibly damaged, most of it missing.
Wired
check out this thread: How To Read the Memory Label The top label looks fine in those pics. Dunno if that other label matters. Dunno if it's even from Corsair for that matter.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 14, 2006 Let's get them or it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
just_laze
Hi, Thank you for your response, RAM GUY. Is it possible to avoid Tech Support Express and recieve an RMA number directly? I fear one could spend hours being quizzed before actually recieving an RMA number, it's especially frustrating as the damage to my module is visibly evident and should therefore be a no brainer, no offence intended. Regards, just_laze.
Wired
You've already gone through the troubleshooting part. Ram Guy is stating the forms you have to fill out. They include stuff that includes your name, address, etc. That info isn't allowed to be posted publicly for obvious reasons.
