Bad RAM?

I recently pruchased (2) sticks of DDR400 for my Anthalon3200+ and the computer has been randomly locking up.

I ran memtest86 last might and in 20 minutes I had 152 errors and no passed tests...

I took out one stick of RAM and ran memtest again and so far it has been running for 10 hours with no errors. I suspect that the one RAM stick is fualty.

do you guys agree?

could this have been the cause of the computer locking up?

Please test the other module by it self and can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

This is the RAM # VS512MB400

The MB is a Giga-byte GA-K8N51PVMT-9

The processor is a 3200+ at 2.00ghz, I have no idea what the FSB is.

None of the Bios settings have been changed from the default settings, I'm not smart enough about computers to be messing with that stuff.

I'll memtest the other stick tonight and report back.

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings to if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.

Well I tested the other stick (by itself) and after 30 minutes on Memtest I had over 100 errors...

how do I get an RMA #???

Ram guy: I'm not a tech guy and have no idea how to increase the voltage or timing. If this might help, please advise how to do it.
