VS1GB400C3 and ASUS A8N-E issues

I have an Asus A8N-E with 2 VS1GB400C3 sticks in for a total of 2 Gb. Occasionally the machine locks up completly in Win XP at random times, could be browsing, playing a game, or I just come back to my desk and the machine is frozen. I ran the memtest on the 2Gb and it found errors, I then ran the memtest on each stick individually and 1 stick appeared to be bad. I have been running with the one "good" stick and the machine locked up again last night. I'm not overclocking and I have the BIOS memory set to "auto".

Any ideas of what the problem might be????

Thanks

Scott

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.

1) I dont see an option in my BIOS for DIMM voltage.

2) I dont see an option to do "by SPD"

2) what does CAS 3-3-3-8 mean, I have probaly 7 or 8 different memory timings that can be tweaked in the bios.... which do these correspong to????

Thanks,

Scott
