The problem probably lies with the Bios but i can not find a upgrade for my motherboard(msi K8t neo fis2r) looking for suggestions
Wired
What is the exact part # and revision # of each stick? Is it a TwinX pack? How To Read the Memory Label Does your CPU have a 333 Mhz or a 400 Mhz FSB?
WolfGang04
cmx512-3200cspt twinpack 0601007-0 v5.2 both settings the 333hz and 400hz are available
Wired
Both will be available, but what does your CPU specs say? Did you buy a 333 Mhz or a 400 Mhz FSB CPU?
RJLeong65
WolfGang04, From your system specs, you've simply bought a CPU and motherboard that are completely incompatible with each other. That K8T Neo-FIS2R motherboard is a Socket 754 Athlon 64 motherboard - but you have an Athlon XP 3000+, which is a Socket A (Socket 462) CPU. The two sockets are physically incompatible with each other. In addition, the Athlon XP has no integrated memory controller - but neither does the K8T Neo-FIS2R on its own. WolfGang04
alright actually the processor is an athlon 64 not xp i typed that in wrong and never changed it sorry for the confusion. weird the manufactures spec at least online say that the fsb is 800mhz so i do not know what you mean with the 333hz and the 400mhz question. sorry
Wired
Ignore the question. Was only for if it was an AthlonXP system. Try one stick at a time with these settings: CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts All other settings to defaults.
