Ezran
Hi all! I'm new in this forum. I've just bought a kit of Corsair xms twinx 2x1GB, revision 1.2, Lot#0523076-2 My problem is that there's no way to boot in dual channel mode on my ABIT AN8 Ultra. Whenever i try to hook up the memory on dimm 1 and 2 (or 3 and 4) the system doesn't arrive to Bios and emits a continous short beep, posting error code 04. I tried so set RAM manually with several different latency configurations and reboot without clear Cmos but it didn't help me. I treid to change voltage setting up to 2,75V and reboot but it doesn't help.. The memory perfect works in dimm 1 and 3 (or 1 and 4, or 2 and 3 ecc.) obviously in single channel 2T. I also tested it with goldmemory, memtest86 and in different system with no problems and no errors.. I start thinking ther's some incompatibility between RAM and motherboard.. Any ideas? My system is: AMD San diego 4000+, Nvidia 7800 Gtx, PSU enermax noisetaker 600W, 2x250 WD caviar, X-fi extrememusic, two drives. TNX!
Ezran
I tested the module singularly with memtest and there's no error at all..Should I suppose some incompatibility with the Abit Mobo?:[pouts:
Wired
Sounds like a bad memory controller (in the CPU).

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 3, 2006 I would get the CPU replaced first.
Ezran
Do ya think is a Cpu issue more than mobo issue? So i think i Rma cpu as soon as possible.. tnx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2006 Yes its either the CPU or the bios is not new enough would be the two most likely issues.
Ezran
Tnx.. For AMD64 memory controller is integrated in the CPU so I agree that could be the most likely
