BoeserBlick
Sorry if this is a dumb question.... I need to upgrade my RAM & found a good deal (on NewEgg): VS1GBKIT400 I'm not sure if this will be ok with my computer. I have a Dell Dimension 3000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2006 If you have a 533 Mhz CPU you should use DDR333 memory.
BoeserBlick
If you have a 533 Mhz CPU you should use DDR333 memory. My computer is a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4. Is that what you mean? Or is there something else I should be looking for?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2006 You have to Log into their site with your password and then you can enter the Tag number to get the details. We do not have that informaton your MB and system builder will be the one to ask. Wired used to work for Dell so he may know how to get the information, but we would not know. Wired
Anyone can make a login to the Dell site. I happen to have one now, as I use it for work occasionally (it's a lot easier to look up a service tag than to ask someone what type of system they have). BTW Ram Guy, check your email :) Saw the post notification with the service tag in it, emailed ya with it hours ago from work (probably buried in there under a couple hundred other ones), too bad I can't see the forums from work :( Dimension 3000 PENTIUM 4 2.8 Ghz, 533 Mhz FSB 256 MB 400 Mhz memory That's what it has currently. Best bet would be to get 2 sticks of CMSS512MB-333 to replace what you've currently got.
BoeserBlick
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP GUYS!!! LAST QUESTION: Would this work? Seems like a better deal than buying two CMSS512MB-333's http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145439 Thank you!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2006 Only if you are replacing the memory that came with your system would you you use value select. If you will be adding to what came in your system you should use System Select.
